*one month later*
"it's your mother's birthday, you have to go" draco laughs as he fixes his tie in the mirror. "she's never cared about me, why should i go" i ask as i look at him from the bed, still in my school uniform. he turns and looks at me "elizabeth, she cares, she just isn't the best at showing it. now get your ass up and throw one of those dresses on" he orders and i sigh "you're an ass."

i grab one of the dresses i had laid out for tonight and walk into the bathroom. "why are you walking in there? i was hoping for a show" he whines and i roll my eyes "you're such a creep." he laughs as he follows me into the bathroom and slides onto the counter. "at least i never drugged you" he shrugs and i look at him "sorry" he laughs as i shake my head.

the dress isn't tight like my normal ones, i don't feel like dealing with my fahter tonight. the dark blue fabric flows at the bottom the tight half sticks to me, giving draco the exact view he wants.

i tuck my wand into my dress and grab my bag. "you look amazing" draco compliments me as we walk out of my room, his hand tangling with mine. "we could stay in, i bet i'd look even more amazing without the dress on" i try to convince him to just not go, like i've been trying to do all day. but no, he is set on going to my mother's birthday get together thing. why would he even want to go? it's not his mother. and he knows how cruel she is to me, why would i want to be there?

"we're going, elizabeth. but after this thing, i'm sure the dress will be off of you and on my floor" he glares at me and i sigh. "you two look nice" pansy compliments us as we make it to the bottom of the stairs. she's kept her promsie recently, staying off draco, being kind to me. it was weird at first, but now it's sort of nice.

"thank you" i smile as she stands up "where are you off to" she asks and i roll my eyes. "my mother's birthday party. like she deserves a party" i scoff and draco sighs "we better get going before she tries to make a run for it" he laughs. "alright, see you later" pansy nods as we walk out of the common room.

draco knocks on the door as he grabs my hand, it swings open. "elizabeth" my father fakes a smile and i cringe "liz" i correct him for what feels like the millionth time in my life. "draco" he turns to draco and no matter how hard he tries, i can still see the anger in his eyes. draco squeezes my hand before we step inside.

"i was starting to think you weren't coming, elizabeth. half of the other guests are already here" my father seethes and i sigh "sorry, we got caught up" draco excuses.

we step into the ballroom and i look over all of the people, all here for my mother. we walk down the steps together and over to my mother. "mrs. alure, it's nice to see you again" draco puts on his best professional act as my mother turns to look at us. "thank you for coming" her voice is cold, emotionless, as she speaks to me. "mother, happy birthday" i force out a genuine tone and she smiles. "thank you. now if you don't mind, i have other guests to welcome" she remarks as she walks away.

"delightful" i scoff as i turn to draco, "can we leave now" i ask and he shakes his head. "no. do you want me to get you a drink" he asks and i nod "the strongest one you can get me" i sigh and he laughs. he let's go of my hand and walks off to the table where the drinks are.

"elizabeth, nice to see you" i hear a familiar voice, a voice that sends chills down my spine. "theodore" i sigh as i turn around, his dark hair is styled as usual and his suit shows himself off. "surprised to see you here" his voice is low, cold. "it's my mother's birthday. why wouldn't i be here" i laugh and he shrugs "i believed you despised your mother" he nods as he takes a sip of his drink. "i do. but she's still my mother" i laugh and he laughs.

"you're drink" draco's voice comes up from behind me, full of a dominant, possessive wave. he hands me my drink before snaking his hand around my waist and pulling me closer to him. "draco, nice to see you also. though, i was hoping to win a dance with sweet elizabeth. i doubt that will happen now" theo glares at draco and i sigh. "correct" draco remarks and theodore laughs "i'll be over there, elizabeth, if you would like to take me up on my offer" he says and i nod as he walks away.

"i wish i could fuck you in front of him, show him who you belong to" draco rolls his eyes and i look at him "i don't belong to you" i laugh and he looks down at me. "you belong to me, elizabeth" he states, his eyes are angry as he looks at me, not angry at me though, angry at theodore. "alright" i laugh and he nods as he looks back over the crowd. "dance with me" he says as he grabs my hand and pulls me away from where i'm standing. i laugh as i finish my drink and set it down as he pulls me through the crowd.

his hands sit on my hips and my arms are wrapped loosely around his neck as we dance together. "theodore is looking at you" he sighs, but i already knew that, i could feel his eyes burning into my skin. "don't pay attention to him" i shake my head and he nods. i lean my head down on his chest and he let's out a breath.

"you ungrateful bitch" my fahter's voice echo's throughout the room and i stop moving. i look up at draco before looking over to where my fahter yells at my mother. the whole crowd has gone silent, staring at the commotion. draco grabs my hand and steps in front of me. "i do everything for you and this is how you treat me" my father continues and i step forward, out from behind draco. "i have to go see what's wrong" i whisper and draco shakes his head, but still i let go of his hand and slip away.

i walk closer to my parents and i can notice the tear rolling down my mother's face, i can see the anger in my father's eyes. "you stupid woman" he continues and i sigh "father, don't do this here. let's go" i try to distract him and my mother looks at me, shaking her head to get me to go away.

"don't get into this, elizabeth. stay out of our business" my father yells and i shake my head. "what happened" i ask and my father looks at me "this slut's sleeping around. now i know where you get it from" he yells and i look at my mother who just shakes her head. "don't speak to her like that" she spits, i'm taken back, she's standing up for me. "don't tell me what to do" my father spits back and my mother glares at him "did you expect me to be happy with you? you're evil" she yells.

my father pulls out his wand and i feel someone pull me back as he yells, pointing the wand at my mother, "crucio" he yells and i watch as the red light hits my mother. people around us scream, gasp, and i know there are some that will reward him. i watch as my mother doubles over in pain, a deafening scream exiting her mouth. "oh my god" i gasp out as my father glares at her "we have to get out of here, elizabeth" draco tries to pull me away but i fight him. "no, i have to help her, draco. she can't handle that" i pull at my arm but he pulls me to him "you can't help her, elizabeth. she'll be okay, it will end soon, he doesn't have good enough reason. we have to go before he hurts you" he states and i sigh as i nod. he pulls me away from the crowd and out of the ballroom as tears threaten to fall out of my eyes.

we use the floo powder to get back to the common room. i look back at draco as we make it inside "oh my god. sh-she- i should have stayed. i could have helped her. if i wasn't pulled away i could have- i could have stopped him" i panic but he just wraps his arms around me and pulls me closer to him "just breath, elizabeth. you couldn't have stopped him. he'll get what he deserves, and your mother will be alright. just breath" he holds me close to him as i calm down. "the ministry will hear about this and he'll get what he deserves" he breathes out and i sigh "finally"
