Alex's POV

"You heard what she said?". Piper begun.

Oh Jesus! I throw my head back and it made me dizzy. Fuck!

Okay, here we go again. I just roll my eyes, hoping she didn't notice. I knew this was coming, Piper can't handle not being in control of a situation, making her a control freak.

I don't want us to fight so I just kept my mouth shut. I don't want to provoke her anymore.

"You will die if you keep doing that, refusing to get medicine!". She scolded.

She really thinks I'm trying to get myself killed? Just because I refused to be pumped with poison? I knew I needed to stay calm and not argue and I tried to stay silent but I can't help it.

"You know that's not what she said. She said It "can" ". I said sarcastically.

"Okay enough! Stop arguing with me. From now on you will have to listen to me or I'm leaving you here alone. I'm not kidding, Alex." She threatened.

"Stop making this lightly!". She shouted at me.

Why is she shouting at me? I stare at her face. I'm so confused with her sudden outburst. She's staring back at me blankly, her eyes are dark and her face looked... frightened? I don't get it.

"You have no idea what I've been through". She continue.

I get it now. I think she had a trauma from my accident. Piper, has changed so much over the years we've been together. Usually she would bail when things get hard but she stayed with me and it wasn't easy for her. She was alone.

Then I watch her grab her bag and head out the door.

"Where are you going? Piper!".
"I'm sorry okay?". I called after her but she just kept walking and out the door.

"Fuck!". This is what I was trying to avoid. I don't want to fight with my wife.

I am aware that the exhaustion, stress and lack of proper rest is making her irritated. I should've just kept my fucking mouth shut. I castigate myself internally.

After a minute the door opened again.

Oh, I'm glad she's back. My face lit up stupidly and then I remember Piper is mad at me and I shouldn't be smiling.

Even without my glasses I knew it wasn't her. That bushy hair can't fool me.

"Oh it's you". I blurted.

"What? You're not happy to see me eh? You're hurting my feelings, Vause". She said playfully.

"I'm happy to see you, Nicky". I said smiling. Ofcourse I'm happy to see her.

"Welcome back, kid". She greeted.

She walk over to me and gave me a kiss on my cheek.

"Sweet". I mumbled.

"Already fighting with blondie huh?". She commented.

"What did she say?". I inquire.

"She doesn't have to say anything. I just know". She replied.

"I saw her at the elevator, said she's going home". She informed me.

Huh! So she's really serious about leaving me here. I think it's good, atleast she'll be able to get a proper rest. I can feel the pain meds are taking effect and it's making me drowsy.
