CHAPTER 10

My father avoided me for two weeks straight. After the little picnic I had with Azrael and his brother, I've been practicing with Azrael non-stop, and I have to say my skills are getting better every day. I was benefiting from him a lot. He improved my speed in combat, and my senses were sharp 24/7 at this point, but he was kicking my ass and enjoying it to the max.

"Come on, Iris, if your right hand is injured, then use the left one, and if both are injured, use your legs, and even if your legs were injured, use your body," he said. "Never. Give. Up." his voice echoed as he looked down at me.

I looked up at him as pain filled my body; I was at the edge of breaking. "What did I say before we started?"Azrael asked me.

"Pain is temporary; death is permanent." I was panting as I tried to raise my weak body, which was trembling by now.

"Do you want to die?"He raised his voice.

Apart from my wishes, the other part says "no." My voice is so weak.

"Do you want to die?" Azrael roared at me. The seventh neighbor could hear him screaming.

I stay silent and look down at myself; Azrael bends down. "No wonder why your family died."

This isn't fair, no. "You can't even defend yourself." He stands tall." That's why they are dead. Because of you." I shrink into myself and watch my walls break down. It's my fault, I couldn't save them. It's my fault I should have known, I should have seen them, I should have kept my guard up.

"NO!" I screamed as I stood in front of him. No, I was supposed to be happy; I was supposed to relax and enjoy the happiest day of my life.

"I will not die. Not today, not tomorrow, not until I kill that fucker." I hissed at him, and he didn't blink once.

"He is standing right here in front of you," Azrael said as he opened his arms.

"Fucken women," Azrael screamed at me as I went feral at him.

I was pulled off Azrael by my waist. I attacked whoever pulled me and knocked him out in seconds.

"Iris, chill," Azrael warned me, and he took out his hands to show me that it was over. But my brain didn't see Azrael; it only saw death. I returned to fighting, but this time, Azrael was able to push me down on the ground and sat on my waist without adding his weight. He tried his best to stop me from attacking, which was almost impossible because I was punching him randomly. He eventually caught my hand and pinned it over my head with one hand.

"Iris, it's me Azrael," he said to me. I was still trying to fight. I moved my legs up, and he felt it, so he moved his body to my lower waist, preventing me from moving my legs. His large body hovered over mine.

"Iris, snap out of it." His voice was too loud, but the banging of my heart was louder; he slapped me in the face. I was still wiggling my way out.

"Snap out of it, mad women." He looked me straight in the eyes. I was finally able to pull my legs from underneath him and wrap them tightly around his neck.

"Iris," he roared my name in all the power that echoed through the house.

I saw his face turn slightly blue due to the lack of oxygen. I quickly removed my leg from his neck.

I looked at him straight in the eyes, shocked. I saw his chest rise up and down as he was trying to breathe while sweat dripped from his forehead into my body.

I had never been this close to Azrael before; I could see his icy blue eyes with a tint of gray, full of concern, searching for answers in mine.

"Oh my god, are you okay?" I ask.

He closed his eyes and nodded at me while trying to normalize his breathing.

"Oh, you guys are being naughty, naughty." Piro stretched the last word.

Azrael smirked while closing his eyes. "She wishes," Azrael said as he opened his eyes and looked down at me.

"That's why you're on top of me, right?" I replied, not breaking eye contact.

"You're not objecting."He said while his smile became more expansive, challenging me.

"Because I almost killed you for the second time," I said to him while giving him the same facial expression.

"Either way, I'm pretty sure you can't take someone like me," he roared as he placed his hand on the side of my waist and moved it down slowly.

I placed both legs on his, which were between mine, switching the weight on him, which led him to fall backward. So now, I was on top of him.

"I think it's the other way around," I said seductively.

He looked me back in the eyes as he had a smirk on his face. I tried getting up, but Azrael pulled me back from my hips, making me sit directly on top.

"Don't play a game with the one who created the rules,"

I exhaled a laugh as I leaned." I was never the one to follow the rules." I felt Azrael underneath me.

"I'm glad that I came here to watch this in real life," Piro said, and both Azrael and I looked at him confused.

"You guys don't know!" Piro said in shock. "The whole security team is watching you," Piro said as he laughed.

I took Azrael's gun and shot all the cameras before getting off him.

"So you all saw her go mad women at me, and none of you tried to help?"Azrael said in disappointment.

"Dude, did you see what she did to that poor guy?"Piro pointed at the guy who tried to help Azrael, who was still knocked out hard.

Azrael looked back at me and said. "You need to control your rage. you almost killed me, for fuck sake."I nodded.

We made our way out of the ring. As I walked down, my vision started blurring, and my dizziness overpowered me.

Azrael POV.

I looked back after getting out of the ring to see Iris' face drain from blood. "Iris?"I called her name, trying to focus her attention on me as she seemed distant.

"Hey, are you okay?"I moved closer to her and noticed her fast breaths.

"Hay, Hay, sit her down," Piro said as he went to get water.

I held her left hand with mine and placed my right hand on her waist, leading her to the chair on my left. She tried to take one step before her legs betrayed her, and she collapsed in my arms. I picked her up and stormed out of the gym, screaming, "Get the medic, now!"
