A/N: I know I never post back to back but this one is so special I couldn't wait! I recommend you listen to the song as you read!
Bring your tissues!
Lizzie was standing in the middle of their somewhat empty London rental. Somewhat because the furniture doesn't belong to them. Lizzie moved all the furniture to the edge of the living room leaving a large space in the middle. Jo came back into the house wearing leggings and a sports bra. Jo looked around asking skeptically "Are we remodeling."
Lizzie laughed, "No silly come here."
"Then what's up with the moving of furniture?"
"Just come here." Lizzie had her arms open waiting to receive Jo. Jo smiled before going into Lizzie's arms. Lizzie wrapped her hands around Jo's neck keeping her in place. Lizzie said "You have done so much for me over all these years but specifically the past two years. You have put all other things you wanted aside. Don't think I don't know you have turned down amazing opportunities to stay with me. You are the woman in my dreams I never thought I could have but here we are and for the first time in two years we get a break. I am taking a break from Wanda for a little while. Not a peep. I want to travel with you. I want to do independent films and shows that don't take me away from home. I want to have our children. I want to wake up in your arms with the sun in the sky." Lizzie took a breath looking deep into Jo's eyes. "I can hear you saying 'what's up with the furniture in your eyes.' I am getting there. My favorite thing about you is when I come downstairs early in the morning and I don't see you but you are in those stupid wool socks that look like a Christmas sweater and an oversized t-shirt and you dance. You dance like you are a twenty-something-year-old in a club then you pick up Red and dance with her." Jo blushed a deep red. "We haven't danced in forever. Will you dance with me?"
Jo nodded saying "Of course my love."
Lizzie turned so she could press play. As the song gently began tears sprung into Jo's eyes she choked "This was Mamaw and Papaw's song."
I'll always remember
The song they were playing
The first time we danced and I knew
Lizzie wiped Jo's tears saying "I know baby. I know you haven't been able to hear it since he died. I thought- I don't know what I thought. I can change it."
As we swayed to the music
And held to each other
I fell in love with you
"Don't you dare!" Jo said firmly "It's perfect."
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
Could you be my partner
Every night
When we're together
It feels so right
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
I'll always remember
That magic moment
When I held you close to me
As we move together
I knew forever
You're all I'll ever need
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
Could you be my partner
Every night
When we're together
It feels so right
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
Could you be my partner
Every night
When we're together
It feels so right
Could I have this dance
For the rest of my life
The two swayed to the lyrics, tears streaming down each of their faces. When the song finished Jo stayed in Lizzie's arms. Lizzie kissed all over Jo's face from the tip of her nose to the edge of her jaw Lizzie let Joe know just how loved she was.
"He saved me," Jo said quietly
"I know, baby."
"The idea that without him I wouldn't have you- I-I- can't even go there."
Lizzie rubbed her back "Hey shhh. You never have to go there. I'm right here. Forever."
"Promise?"
Lizzies heartbroken for her wife "Always and forever."
Jo took a deep breath, laughing defeated "Ugh look at me bringing the room down."
"Josephine Hamilton Olsen don't you ever say anything like that. You are allowed to feel in front of me. All your happiness, sadness, anger, joy I want to see every bit of it."
Jo smiled kissing Lizzie. Lizzie whispered why I have the room like this why don't we bring have some fun?"
Jo wiggled her eyes "What kind of fun?" Lizzie reached over, hitting a few buttons on her phone Jo squealed when the music began. Jo began shuffling her feel side to side before swaying her hips in the way that made Lizzie crazy. Lizzie laughed as Jo began to theoretically mouth the lyrics of Lizzos's "Juice". Jo brought Lizzie close and the two spent the afternoon dancing and laughing enjoying their last day in the rental. It was a perfect day.
A/N: I know it's one of my shorter chapters but I wanted to keep the intimate moment intimate without adding a lot of stuff around it. Also! We went from 10k to 11k overnight and that simply baffles my brain. I will keep you guys updated on when I plan on publishing the Black Canary it takes more work because I have to do more research but hopefully that will be up in the next few months!
Any chapter ideas? I know you guys want the twins and I promise they are coming!
