TW: This is an intense chapter.

The two got ready for bed. Lizzie went to pull the shirt over her head when she heard a gasp "What?!"

Jo looked over at Lizzie with tears in her eyes. "You have a bump."

Lizzie looked down with a soft smile on her face. "I'm surprised you noticed."

"How could I not?"

"I'm only 9 weeks."

"You forget one fact."

"What is that?"

"I know you."

"I know." Lizzie laughed

"No, I know you. I know every freckle, every divot, every ridge, every dimple of your body, and that. That little perfect bump wasn't there before." Jo squatted down kissing the new bump. "I love you two."

"Does Mommy get a kiss?" Lizzie asked, Jo, looked up smiling before giving the twins two last kisses.

"What? I have to be fair." Lizzie rolled her eyes as Jo pulled her into a kiss. Jo smiled into Lizzies lips as she felt the bump against her.

Jo woke up to the sound of screaming. She bolted up to find Lizzie sitting up beside her sweat and tears mixing as leaned over puking onto the hardwood floor before she stood up rushing to the bathroom. Jo quickly followed, nearly slipping on the hardwood as she drifted into the bathroom. He held Lizzie's hair as she puked tears still streaking down her face. Lizzie was weak as Jo helped her stand over the sink. Lizzie braced her hands on the edge letting her fingers white knuckle the counter. A shaky hand reached for the toothbrush Jo placed her hand on Lizzie whispering "Let me." Lizzie nodded, too exhausted to speak. Jo gently tilted Lizzies head up before brushing her wife's teeth. She worked gently and slowly knowing if she went too far back it would make her wife vomit again. Lizzie continued to cry. Jo took the toothbrush out washing it off as Lizzie spit a small sob escaping her lips. She choked back a sob causing her once again to lean over the toilet dry heaving. Jo rubbed her back so unbelievably helplessly. Jo took Lizzie into her arms. Lizzie wrapped her legs around Jo crying into her shoulder. "Shh honey. Shhh. You're safe." Jo sat on the bed, Lizzie still clinging to her. "Do you want to talk about it?" Jo asked gently. Lizzie shook her head no. "It may help, baby." Jo took a long breath "Come on baby. Talk to me. Please."

Lizzie pulled her head off of Jo's shoulder, sad eyes looking into Jo's. Jo wanted to break down and cry but she couldn't. All those nights Lizzie would be her rock she was returning to. Lizzies lip quivered and at that moment Jo had never seen her look so small. She brushed some of Lizzie's hair away from her forehead before letting her hands rest on her lower side, her thumbs rubbing her lower belly.

Lizzie sniffled tears in her eyes "It was awful Jo." She started crying harder "They died." That was all it took for Jo to pull her wife back onto her wrapping her into a tight hug smothering her in kisses.

"They are safe. They are safe in you."

"How do you know?" Lizzie asked the heartbreak thick in her words. Jo thought for a minute.

"Because they are Hamilton-Olsen and Hamilton-Olsen babies are the strongest babies."

"But how do you know?" Lizzie stressed

"Because they are part of you and you are the strongest woman I know." that did nothing to settle the worry in Lizzie. Jo knows how she feels she would wake up from dreams almost sure her wife was dead and it wasn't until her ear heard her beating heart that she settled. Jo whispered "I'm going to get up real fast. I will be right back."
