Rose Garden

Scarlett and Rose were snuggled up on the couch when the doorbell rang so Colin stood up going to answer it. He opened it to find Jo and Lizzie smiling back. "Uhh, Ohh Rose guess who's here?!"

Little feet could be heard before the little girl launched herself into Jo's arms "Aunt Joey!"

"Rosie Posie!! When did you get so big?"

"Aunt Jo, I am not big. You are big."

"Is that so?" Jo laughed, tickling the girl. She plopped the girl back on her feet "Where is your Mama big girl?"

"On the couch. Baby makes her tired."

"I bet it does."

They all made their way into the living room where Scarlett was just trying to get off the couch. Jo laughed, reaching a hand out pulling her up gently. Lizzie leaned over whispering "Get used to that."

Scarlett looked at them suspiciously as she pulled Jo against her. She was small in Jo's arms even with the large bump "What are you two schoolgirls giggling about?"

Jo waved her off "I'll tell you later."

After they all hugged they all sat back down. Jo sat between Lizzie and Scarlett and before she knew she was being pounced by a 6-year-old. Rose sat on Jo's lap looking Jo right in the face she looked right into Jo's blue eyes "I miss you, Aunt Jo."

Josephine kissed the girl's head "I missed you too."

Scarlett looked over tears in her eyes to see tears in Lizzies eyes. Scarlett said, "Rose, why don't you go show Jo your new toy?" Rose jumped down pulling Jo with her. Scarlett gave Colin a knowing look and he was also out of the room. Scarlett padded the spot right beside her "Come here."

Lizzie scooted over as Scarlett took a hold of her hand guiding it along her bump. Lizzie let out a soft chuckle with tears in her eyes "It's incredible."

Scarlett nodded, "You'll know soon enough."

"What was that?" Lizzie asked

Scarlett gave her a knowing look "How far along are you?"

Lizzie smiled, "Around seven weeks."

"Wow, that's early. I'm surprised you are telling people."

"We aren't really. We are just telling the family you two were the last people on our list until the babies get older."

Scarlett raised her perfectly sculpted brow "Babies?" Lizzie smiled nodding, "Does that make Jo a dead woman?" Scarlett asked

Lizzie laughed "Yeah. Yes, it does."

Scarlett became serious. "You know she'd jump in front of a train for you."

Lizzie smiled softly "Yeah I do. She's already become fiercely protective of the twins."

Scarlett placed her hand on Lizzies "Thank you for considering us family enough to tell us."

Lizzie smiled as she heard little feet run back into the room. Rose crawled up into Lizzies lap. Jo and Scarlett both said "Be careful Rose"

Jo looked at Scarlett questioning before looking back at Lizzie who was laughing "She's okay guys."

Jo gave her a look asking 'Can we tell them?'

Lizzie did a quick nod before saying "Well Scarlett already knows but go for it, babe."

"What?!"
"Excuse me Colin doesn't know

"We're pregnant!... With twins!"

Colin's mouths both dropped "Oh my gosh!!" he squealed, wrapping the girls in a hug.
