"Alright, Y/n. You should get back in line." Sam suggests after our fit of laughter. "Your break is over."
"Yeah." I reply and wipe my eyes from the amused tears that filled them. "I should."
I stand up and smooth out my dress in a nervous habit now that I am comfortable but still nervous about the end of all of this. I can't think about it anymore when I start walking over the the row of guys and take my unassigned, assigned spot on the end and cross my ankles as well as my hands behind my back to wait for instruction like a good trainee. After keeping a careful watch on me, Bucky and Sam walk over to their spots in front of me and next to the rest of their team who continue their conversation from earlier about literally nothing before Tony notices the lines and clears his throat.
"Mentioned before, you all will go against a SHIELD agent one by one before moving onto the next round where you get to pick who you want to go up against." Tony reminds us. "The only person off limits is me because of my suit." He adds almost happily
"Who wants to go first?" Natasha asks
"I will." Someone raises their hand and immediately volunteers to get on the team's good side
"Come on and take the first ring that has a hole in the glass then." She waves her hand and sends me a playful wink and smirk
"Who am I fighting against?" He asks with bright blond hair like he bleached it with the dark roots showing and is cut in a grown out buzz cut. He's wearing black shorts and a white t-shirt he stretches and cracks his knuckles in to get ready to fight this agent
"I'll explain that in a moment." Tony smiles. "JARVIS, send Happy in." He calls to nothing in particular
I think I can speak for everyone here who has no experience with this high advanced tech and military without any argument when we were expecting a really buff and tall dude dressed in heavy SWAT gear to walk through that door but no, a shorter man who is definitely not muscular by any means steps out, wearing a gray t-shirt and black shorts with red boxing gloves and white head gear that makes me press my lips in a line as I compose myself. He already looks amped up and ready to go when he hits his boxing gloves together in a confident clap and hops up on the mats after giving Tony a fist bump.
Maybe he is more dangerous that I am assuming.
"This is Happy, my assistant and forehead of security." Tony introduces with some chucking that intensifies through his jokes. "He is highly trained so take it easy." He laughs and it elicits an eye roll from Happy
"Your goal is to get him down one time." Steve speaks. "If he gets up in less than five seconds, you have to take him down again until he is down longer than five seconds or we call off the fight." He explains carefully so we don't get hurt or hurt anyone
One by one, everyone takes their turn with Happy dropping into his extreme stamina that I didn't know was there. I wont lie, this dude has some insane endurance to be an opposite build of all the guys here and still continue after every take down. Bless him, he does rest for five minutes in between every fight just so he can catch his breath and grab some water if he needs it but is back up and energetic like he's never heard of sleep or exhaustion a day in his life.
Some contestants have managed to get him down on the first try and with others, it takes a few more times as Tony and Steve stay together, constantly updating the chart with every Avenger walking by and giving their input just so no one misses anything. So far, only one person has gotten a one and that's when Happy successfully took him down in the first two seconds when he was distracted. Yeah, he was not happy at all. He stomped off the mats and ripped his gloves off that he threw on the ground and raised his hands to his head in a complete tantrum.
