Bucky's hand never left mine as we walked to the elevator and descended down to the parking garage which holds not many cars anymore but has a shit ton of Tony's sports cars I have never noticed before with all of the affordable ones blocking them. Our hands separated only so we could get into the car and buckled in where he tried to reach for my hand but I pointed to the glove box in front of him instead, telling him I needed my keys. He reaches forward and opens the glovebox to pull out my phone and keys, handing me my lanyard so I can turn the car on. He holds my phone in his hand as he closes the door to the glovebox and leans back in the seat, looking down at the screen, not that I care since we always play on each other's phones.

"I guess Tony updated the website." Bucky mumbles

"What?" I hum as I back out of the spot and stop when he turns the phone towards me so I can see the hundred different notifications popping up on my lockscreen. "Wow." I sigh as my phone constantly buzzes with every new friend requests and messages coming in. "That didn't take long." I shrug and drive off down the curvy tunnel

"It never does, but it will calm down soon though." He reassures with a pat on my thigh

"I'm not worried about it but, thank you." I cast him a smile and reach for the radio dial

"Always for you." He hums and looks out the window while keeping his hand on my leg. "This okay?" He asks and glances down at my leg where his metal hand rests

"It's always okay." I nod and pull up to the end of the tunnel where the New York streets are busy. "I like it when you touch me. Makes me feel calm." I admit and look both ways without connecting my eyes to his

"Then touch you I will if it makes my doll feel good." He proudly takes on the job as I drop my right hand to lay on top of his

I laugh and pull out onto the road as the song 'Dinner and Diatribes' by Hozier plays from when I tried to calm myself down this morning. We ride in comfortable silence from the exhausting day until something catches Bucky's attention and with one hand, he unlocks the glovebox again and pulls out the letter to read it with no expression before folding it back up and placing it back inside the glovebox then closing the door so it's out of sight and hopefully out of mind.

"I'm sorry." I apologize and break the still air so he looks over at me with a soft look. "I should've told you when I signed up but I didn't know we were going to become friends and I was wrong for not telling you when we did." I glance at him

"I forgive you, doll." He smiles and gives my hand a squeeze in my lap before lifting it for his lips to kiss my knuckles

"I just didn't want you to be angry." I explain my thoughts. "So, I kept it a secret not knowing it would make it worse." I say

"I would've been upset either way." He admits. "I care about you and I want to keep you safe but I also know you can defend yourself. I'm also glad I found out the way I did." He smirks

"Why's that?" I ask and look at him when I have to make a right hand turn

"That was the best ten minute sex I've ever had." He sighs and relaxes in his seat

"Oh, shut up." I roll my eyes with a smile

"You know you loved it." He comes back at me

"I did." I nod. "Every fucking minute." I agree and our laughter dies down when I slow down by the cafe to see the lights on but no cars parked outside. As I pass, I can't see Barron inside where he usually is near the front either frosting cookies or switching out the food in the display case for every holiday or state occasion

"He's not there." Bucky observes as he looks out the window

"He's supposed to be. I mean, the cafe doesn't close for another five hours." I shrug and wonder what's up
