A few days passed. Like it's February thirteenth, days passed. Bucky has kept his mouth sealed shut with some out of this world glue and is absolutely refusing to tell me what he is doing and where we are going because it according to the man, is a very fancy restaurant and that we don't fuck with but we thought we would try.

For the experience.

Today, Bucky is talking with Fury about his sudden disappearance and we all and by all I mean Steve, Sam, and I agreed to say that I was indeed having a panic attack after waking up from a nightmare. I'm not too worried because Bucky is a good liar and can keep his emotions hidden very well so I have faith in him. Today is also the day that Mary and I agreed to take Alpine back to her actual owners. Bucky was a little upset- sorry, very upset and fought with me on putting her in her 'small' carrier that he got her and eventually, after hours of fighting and convincing, I finally won in the end. I also have Steve with me today, he offered to keep me company while Bucky is in his meeting and right now, we both sit in my car, driving down the wet streets of New York with me driving and Steve riding beside me happily and listening to his music with Alpine sleeping in her carrier in the backseat.

"I think Sam is going talk to Buck today." Steve suddenly speaks

"Really?" I lift my eyebrows, genuinely surprised

"Yeah." He smiles. "Sam feels horrible for what he said and admitted that he takes it too far."

"So, he does know that Bucky's arm is a trigger." I mumble, unable to completely forgive him on the topic

Yet, at least.

But, I'll get over it.

"Everyone knows Bucky's arm is a trigger for him." Steve nods in obvious. "Everyone knows not to talk about it. Sure, we can make light joke about it like Tony's nicknames but, to say it looks like a claw machine was too far." He agrees

"I think what got him was Sam saying that Buck was so easy to piss off." I say while looking both way before crossing the busiest intersection in New York

"Sam sees me talking to Bucky about his issues so he thought that it was okay for him to do the same." He sighs

Steve always tries to justify both sides so he doesn't seem biased or he favorites someone over the other person but, in this case, he knows what Sam did was wrong and there isn't much he can say or do to make the situation better. Sam talking to Bucky however, is a good idea. A very good one and I just hope Bucky gives him the time to talk and hear him out so they can put this behind them and move on.

"Sam doesn't talk like you do with him." I shake my head. "He jokes and tries to get Bucky to smile about his past which is innocent but, when you guys have been through what he and I have been through, it's anything but funny." I explain

I think that's why I take offense to it as well.

Because I've been through that Hell.

"That's what I told him." Steve nods. "He wants to apologize to Buck and work on their friendship."

"Good." I smile slightly. "They are good friends when they actually allow themselves to be."

"Especially in Louisiana." He agrees

"Definitely in Louisiana." I chuckle

It's around dinner time and since the team is all broken up doing their own things with Natasha and Clint helping Zak, Thor in Asgard for his weekly visits that are actually like every few months, science geeks in the lab, and Sam waiting for Bucky, we all decided to get whatever we want for dinner. Steve was pretty happy that he didn't have to cook and he didn't feel like eating any fancy meals which is surprising to me so as I pull into the parking lot of McDonalds, we decided to both get the same thing which was chicken nuggets and french fries. He was pretty happy when he grabbed the bag and started to eat some fries before I could even park in the parking lot and I don't mind. Bucky, Steve, and I tend to eat each other's food if the other won't finish it or if they aren't looking. The weather is on and off with snowing so everything is wet, icy, and slush filled that makes me cringe at the asphalt and dirt infested ice piled up on the sides of the road.
