"I can dry my own hair, Bucky." I huff
"You can't hold your hand above your head for more than a minute, Y/n." Bucky huffs as well when we made absolutely no progress except for turning off the water and Bucky wrapping a towel around my body with us walking over to the sink where he is currently trying to dry my hair
Key word: Try.
On both ends.
"Okay, and?" I look at him through the mirror while resting my hand on my head with the towel under my palm
"Just let me help you." He says now butt ass naked only with a matching purple towel hanging low on his hips
"I can do it, Bucky." I roll my eyes and try to move my hand back but the inevitable happens where the towel falls into his awaiting hands
"Doll, we already had this conversation." He replies softly
I sigh and drop my hand to the counter to let him scrunch my hair in the towel while being careful not to pull and once my hair is no longer dripping with water and is only damp, he tosses the towel into the hamper and grabs my waist to turn me to the right so I face him. Moving my towel under my arms, he tucks the end of the towel in itself so it doesn't come undone when he takes off the sling. I don't show any signs of pain on my face when he unclips the silicone sling even though it hurts like a bitch when my arm drops but it's better this time.
"I don't think we need that big of a patch this time." He mumbles while cutting a smaller portion of gauze
"You know, it was three days of not having any stitches and now, I can't even take care of myself." I grumble mostly to myself
"I'm sorry, precious baby." He frown. "I wish I could make it better."
"You are." I look up at him. "Because you're helping me."
He smiles softly and puts down the gauze and scissors to replace it with a small white tube of that pale yellow ointment. Quickly putting on a rubber glove, he squeezes some onto his right pointer finger and rubs it across the cut with one gentle swipe. I've gotten pretty used to the pain at this point and it's not his fault, he is being as soft as he can be but he's going to make the skin angry either way so it's a pull through kind of situation. Once he has the cream covering the stitches, he pulls the glove off and throws it away before placing the gauze on top and taping it down with less pieces so it shouldn't hurt next time.
"I'll change your sling once we get you into new clothes." Bucky says and I nod, dropping my towel
"You can get dressed first." I say while opening the door with him quickly putting everything back under the sink
"Are you sure?" He asks and grabs my thick black fabric sling
"Yep." I smile and walk to my closet. "Helps if you're not naked incase I fall or something." I pass my desk which has my balloons of different designs and colors all saying 'Get Well Soon!' on it with a few Captain America and Falcon ones mixed in. They sit on the end of my desk on the other side of my mirror near my door with my dark blue flowers in a glass vase
"You have a point." He nods in agreement
"I always do." I smile a little. "When I get my magic back, remind me to put a spell on those flowers." I mumble
"Will do, doll." He takes the job seriously knowing how much those flowers mean to me. "Thor is in Asgard getting information from his mom and brother right now about your magic." He adds and this makes me look up at him with wide eyes and raised eyebrows. "He just left this morning."
"When is he going to be back?" I ask in total shock
"Tonight or early morning." He shrugs
"Hell, yes." I silently cheer
