The next few hours were laid back until we all packed up our small amount of things and headed down to the dock area where we set up at the fire pit on the top of the hill with blankets covering different parts of the ground. The kids however, rather play and run around despite their tiredness so they did that while only some neighbors arrive considering it is November first, people are still really tired after the late night. I still stand in the same outfit with Bucky's black sweatshirt and black leggings but I did add white Crocs to match my fuzzy socks that keep my feet super warm. Steve, Bucky, and Sam walk over with chopped up wood that was either torn apart or cut with an axe and toss it in the fire pit while Sarah, Charlotte, and I just stand and watch.

"How's Pam's hip doing?" I ask Charlotte

"It's giving her some problems but she is walking around." Charlotte sighs and shoves her hand in her jacket pocket while holding a beer in her other hand

"Walking is better than being bed ridden." I shrug at me attempting to lift the mood

"That is true." She smiles softly and sips her cold beer

"Sky's getting dark." Sarah mumbles and looks up where my eyes follow up to the darkening sky that has no clouds so the bright white and yellow stars shine down on us mixing with the soft moonlight. The air is a lot colder now but not enough to make our breaths freeze in a white cloud just yet

"Just in time." I reply and look down at the fresh wood in the metal pit

"Who brought the lighter fluid?" Sam suddenly asks and looks around at his neighbors who all shake their heads

"Always forgetful." I chuckle when Sam sets his hands on his hips while turning in half circles to look at the picnic tables scattered around, trying to find the lighter fluid and a lighter

"When is he not?" Charlotte scoffs

"You got me there." I sigh and walk forward towards the pit while letting my magic rise

"See? I knew she would have us covered." Sam smiles when he sees the dark blue glow of my magic bounce off the ground

I roll my eyes with a smile and crouch down near the edge of the pit while lifting my glowing hand to the pile of wood. As my skin makes contact with the bark, my handprint is burned into the pale brown of the log that abruptly bursts into bright blue flames, engulfing the entire inside of the pit. Some people take a few steps back while others flinch and I stand with my hand encased in a blue flame. I wave it a few times and blow on the flame, trying to put it out and after a few seconds of me waving my hand around and slapping it on my stomach which was a mistake because of my bruises, the flame goes out with Sam chuckling.

"Does that not burn you, girl?" Sam asks through his laughter

"It's my magic." I shrug and lift my hand to show no abnormalities. "It doesn't burn me."

"I hope you didn't burn my sweatshirt." Bucky smiles as he walks over to me

"Of course not." I smile back and show him my sleeve. "You know that." I remind him as the warm fire crackles off heat in orange sparks that lift off the top of the blue flames, warming up the left side of my body when Bucky wraps his arms around my waist

"I do remember you showing me your Human Torch abilities." He hums with a smile and bends down to give me a long kiss

"Unfortunately, it only goes up to the elbow." I break the kiss quickly and walk over to the picnic table where all of the s'mores stuff are. "Can you set up our area?" I ask over my shoulder

"Sure thing, doll." He replies happily and walks over to another table that has blankets, sheets, and pillows on top

I tear my eyes away from his jacket stretching over his back muscles and walk myself over to one of the tables that is stacked with the s'mores ingredients along with sticks, Pop Its, and sparklers even though it's almost winter but I love how all of these kids on the dock try to and succeed in stretching out the fun summer days as long as possible. I start to grab some packets of chocolate, graham crackers, and marshmallows to stuff in my sling when I smile at a familiar voice coming up to my left.
