After Aleks somehow left Belial's embrace they both went to shower. After they dried and got dressed, Belial went to Ariana to discuss something with her.
Aleks decided to go to the library and do some research. Yesterday he had seen something in his sleep but wasn't sure what it was. In addition, he sought clues of his identity in the great lexicon of demon races to which he might belong. He hadn't found it yet, but the book was huge. Aleks was always amazed at the diversity of the demon world. In each race there were countless sub-races, depending on which corner of hell they lived in. Really fascinating.
Belial entered the room where Ariana wanted to meet with him and Lyric. They hadn't told Aleks, but there was no good news.
"As it stands, Rukia is still alive," Lyric said with a serious facial expression.
"We don't know how much he has seen, Bebe, but it could be enough to get Aleks into trouble. My sources say he has been seen with some higher-ranking demons. I'm worried about that," Ariana said.
Belial clenched his fist. He knew they couldn't keep the hiding game going for long. The only sure way was to officially introduce Aleks to Astaroth and swear allegiance to him. The problem was that they still haven't figured out what Aleks was. There were no records of demons with Aleks' abilities.
There were demon races that could form magic at will, but Aleks' magic was so different. It was, how could he say it, pure. Not only could he form it, he could also strengthen his body with it. Added to this, was his unexplained ability to teleport – if that was what it was – and the ability to heal others. He could be a hybrid, but then he would have to come from at least five races and inherit all of their abilities. This was simply not possible. Added to this were the physical characteristics of these demon races, which Aleks didn't have.
The strangest thing was that all the blood tests from Lyric used to determine the race were completely bizarre. Somehow, they had to assign him to a race so that he could pretend to be its member for the time being. But for that, he had to be trained only to reveal their qualities and abilities. However, this didn't include his ability to heal. That didn't fit into any of the races.
They continued to discuss which fit best and forged plans.
"Then we go with that," Belial concluded the discussion. Aleks would pretend to be a Choronta demon, while his other half was human.
Choronta demons were peaceful demons, but they were very shy. They had the ability to form their magic at will, just as Aleks could. However, how a single person shapes them, was different from demon to demon, so the way Aleks formed it wouldn't necessarily stand out. His appearance would be due to his human half.
This should be enough, especially if Lyric and Ariana would confirm his origin. At least they hoped so. Now all they had to do was talk to Aleks.
Ariana froze. She felt a strong resonance at her protective barrier. Langora ran into the room in panic. "Milady, we are being attacked!"
Then the chaos started.
Ariana, Lyric, and Belial stormed outside. Hundreds of shadow animals ran through the house and the garden, attacking everything that was moving.
In the sky, Anzu demons flew - demons that looked like birds, but whose bodies were covered with black scales, while the feathers of their wings were fire-red. They had sharp claws and could spit both fire and water.
What the hell? Ariana unleashed numerous seals that triggered small explosions and devoured the shadow animals.
Lyric and Belial killed everything within ten yards. Belial summoned his wings and flew up to stop an Anzu demon that wanted to attack the roof of the house. He slashed the demon from tail to neck with Elyrion. A glass-shattering scream accompanied his crash.
