On Aleks' first night in his new home, he didn't get a wink of sleep. He was nervous and turned from left to right and back again. A thousand thoughts were buzzing around his head, keeping him awake. What will the test of his abilities look like tomorrow? Will it be a fight? Who is he running against? Should he attack with all his strength? At some point, he must have fallen asleep.

When Belial woke up, he looked anxiously at his still sleeping mate. He must have had a bad night. Belial had woken up a few times and had noticed how Aleks had turned around. He would let him sleep even further because it was of no use if he had to undergo the test of his warriors exhausted.

So, he got dressed and made his way to his "office". He had to update himself on what was happening. When he opened the door, Nero was already waiting at his table. He had spread out all the necessary documents.

"Let's get started," he said to his friend who nodded. Then he brought Belial up to date.

"So nothing much has changed in the power structure?"

Nero nodded and said, "In recent months, however, there have been increased attacks on higher-ranking demons. So you don't seem to be an exception. Someone plans an attack and gathers power, but no one knows who. There really is no evidence whatsoever."

"In conclusion we have nothing?" Nero shook his head. The only one who could have known more was Rukia, but he was no longer there.

Belial made a serious expression.

"Ignorance is deadly in our profession. If I don't know who the enemy is, I'm not able to protect Aleks." He didn't have a good feeling, something was coming. Not only that, he knew he couldn't keep Aleks a secret for long. His mate had to learn about his world as quickly and as much as possible. There was no other way.

The growl of his stomach awakened Aleks from his sleep. When had he fallen asleep? He looked out of the window, it was broad daylight. Does the day here also have 24 hours? He had to ask Belial that later. Time to eat.

He got dressed and made his way to the kitchen if he knew where it was. He asked around and reached the kitchen after a few detours. After entering the room, he saw that it was empty. Alright, let's get it on. To be honest, he preferred it, he could make himself something to eat in peace.

Now only one question arose. Where was the fridge? There were numerous cupboards and tables, as well as crockery, but these had nothing in common with the establishment of a "human kitchen". The décor was made of wood or stone. Metal was rarely seen. Plastic didn't even exist – a human invention?

Aleks went to a cupboard and pulled on its handle, but it didn't seem to want to open at first. After pulling a little stronger, it opened up and a cold breeze blew towards him. Wow, this is a (demonic?) refrigerator.

At first, he could not detect the cause of the cooling until he saw small stones at the edges that seemed to give off the cold. Awesome! Does everything work with magic here? Where humans used electricity, the demons used magic and magic stones. Progressive and outdated at the same time, no, simply different.

Here in hell, magic seemed to be part of all life and the demons could use it. Humans just weren't able to do it, so they had to do it differently.

Curious, he scoured the cupboards and discovered new things again and again. He made sandwiches with – he wasn't quite sure about it – vegetables? Heartily he bit into it and moaned. Delicious.

Footsteps and a frightening sound interrupted his culinary digressions. A kitchen employee looked at him and his bread, apparently not knowing how to deal with this situation.
