19: Stood Up, Back Out

Cha Eunwoo's POV

I was looking at the photos in my phone gallery when I received a call from Chaeyoung. I picked it up right away expecting her to get here soon. I have been waiting for almost half an hour in this cafe since I told her I have time to see her for a while before going back to Jeonju.

Coincidentally I had a work trip to Seoul for two days so I asked her if she wanted to meet before I leave. Luckily she agreed even though she said she might be late to get here.

"Chaeyoung, are you here?", I asked while looking around outside the cafe.

"Ah, Eunu. I'm sorry. I might not going to make it. I have something important to settle before 7.", she said as I heard like she was moving things in a hurry in the background.

I tried to stay relaxed before asking, "Why? Is there something I can help with that?"

There was a sound of something falling and she almost cursed, "Sorry, Eunu. I got this, I just needed to drive to the airport now."

"Airport? Why?", I asked as I checked the time at the moment.

5.45 PM. She probably just got off from work.

"I have to give some important documents to someone. I'll call you later? Is it okay?", the sound of the door closed was heard in her background.

I nodded as if she was in front of me, "It's fine, then. Take your time. I can still wait until 7."

"Thanks, Eunwoo. I'll call you back as soon as I can.", with that, our call ended.

I stared at my phone where I was looking at her photos earlier.

"Who's that someone waiting for you at the airport, Chae?", I asked to myself before sighing.

Jeon Jungkook's POV

I had sighed for a countless times with Yeri's impatience of keeping on asking me where Chaeyoung is that she has not yet arrived here. As for me, I could only tell her to relax as I kept looking at my watch every now and then. I tried not to call Chaeyoung as I knew she was still driving to get here. I will just interrupt her from focusing to drive if I call her.

When I glanced at my watch that showed 6.45 PM right now, I got a call and quickly answered it as soon as I saw her name.

"Yes, Chaeyoung. Where are you right now? I'm leaving in 15 minutes, you know?", I told her before she cut me off from speaking.

"I'm here. Where's your exact location? I'll run there now.", she replied as she sounded hurrying up on the other end.

Then, I told her where I stood and saw her upstairs near the railings. I told her to look down and she looked around to find me. I waved at her until she saw me and waved back at me.

"Yah, get over here quickly.", I told her as she still had time to smile at me while standing upstairs.

"Okay, okay. I'm coming.", she said before hanging up and ran to the escalator to get down.

"Finally she arrived.", Yeri said as she stood beside me with her angry face.

I turned to her and asked her to smile, "Hey, chill. She's here already."

Yeri crossed her arms before faking a smile that I know she would do when she got annoyed with something.

"Just look at her running down like that in heels. Troublesome.", she said as I turned to see Chaeyoung at the escalator making her way passed the people standing on it calmly.
