Robin's pov

This has to be the closest thing that Ava and I could consider as a road trip. Just driving along with CDs playing while swapping them out for another and the dogs sitting behind us, I could honestly get used to this. Of course, we still have to make some pit stops along the way; simply to fill up on some snacks for all of us and some fuel for the van, stretching our legs, letting the dogs out for a bit of a run and back on the road again. Sometimes I would forget that we're out here but when we arrive at our location, we will kick our feet up and relax with the dogs. We still have yet to give them names after all. And by this time tomorrow, we'll get everything ready for business, I can just only hope it will go well. Then all of a sudden, one of the dogs started to bark; he noticed something.

"Robin look!" Ava said to me as she pointed out a sign just ahead of us. I slowed down a bit to read and it had the towns name it! Meaning that we are nearly there!

"Yes! Good dog!" I said excitedly as I praised the dog for noticing it. Even Ava couldn't help but pet him. We're nearly there! We're almost home.

Ava's pov

We finally arrived in the town but I already love it, and I'm pretty sure Robin loves it too. She may not look like it but they have always preferred living in places like this, said it makes her feel at peace. It's so much different from the city not just from simply looking at it but you can feel it as well, we will be looking forward to our stay here. As we slowly drive through the streets, keeping an eye open for the shop but when we turned the corner we see a crowd of people standing on the pavement and amongst them was the mayor. Both Robin and I agree that it might be a good idea to get out and see what's happening.

"Excuse me, mayor. What's happening here?" I asked as we both approached him?

"Ava! There you are! I was starting to think that you wouldn't be able to make it. And I see you brought a friend," The mayor said as he greeted us with a smile as he continued to talk.

"So what do you think?"

Robin and I turned our heads to shop. At first, we had no idea what he means but then suddenly It hit me. This was my granny's shop, it was hardly unrecognizable, and that's was just from the outside. What could the inside have to offer?!

"You did all this sir?" I said to him with a slight chock sob within my voice.

"Not just me, everyone out here has pitched in to help. This store means a lot to people here, we only did what we know is right by fixing the place up for you and your friend."

The voices of the residents started to talk as well, saying that they were more than happy to help. I always knew that the act of kindness is a thing but witnessing it myself, just makes my heart flutter.

"Thank you all so much. I love for this to continue but I and Robin should go inside and start unpacking, plus I'm sure that the dogs need something to eat. Right, Robin?" I said to them as she opened the doors to let the dogs out of the van and packs of food for them.

"Yea. Hopefully, the upstairs part of the store has enough room. And don't worry we'll put up a notice about them on the window." Robin said as they opened the door the dogs to get them settled and feed.

There are right on that front so I better help out now. I bid the mayor and everything goodbye and started to bring the stuff from the back and into the shop. As I walked I was surprised by the interior design; It was a mixture of that modern look yet it still has that retro feel to it, a rather cosy atmosphere. I started to open up the first box as it contents the photos of granny when she was the owner, I made the start by hanging them on the wall. I looked over at Robin who was setting down my grandpa's record player and started to fill the nearby shelves with the records. But of course, we only scratched the surface of unpacking; this is going to take us a bit.

When downstairs was finished, we decided to spend the little time that was left naming the dogs before going to bed afterwards. For the males, we have Chomper, Stilton, Bodega and Barkley. And the girls are Slayer, Gale, Fin, Igloo aka Iggy and Noodle. We'll focus on getting them collars tomorrow after work, but for now, sleep.

"I can't wait for what tomorrow is going to offer," I said to Robin as I'm struggling to keep my eyes open.

"Same here Ava, good night..." And with that, they fell asleep. I don't blame them though, it has been a long journey. I better go to sleep as well since we have a big day tomorrow.

"Good night Robin, night pups..." I said one last time, then before I knew it, I was out like a light.

(When chapter three comes a well-known face will finally make an appearance.)
