XIV I'm so sorry Ava XIV

Robin's pov

Halloween is over and now Christmas is getting closer, the last few days have been nothing but depressing. Within those days, Ava has been trying to talk to me, and I just run off like a coward. I don't know how much longer I could keep this up, I have no idea what I should do. Luckily for me that Finn's shop is close by, he might be able to help. Or at least knock some sense in me.

"And that's why you're here?"

"Yes Finn, it is," I said to him as he handed me a cup of coffee.

By the time I got here he was about to close up shop, but when he saw me knocking on the door, he wasted no time and opened the door for me. Finn is a sweet guy, anyone would be lucky to be in a relationship with him. It actually surprises me that he doesn't have anyone special yet.

"I don't know what I should do Finn. I know that I should go back and talk to her but, I'm just scared. I just kept on running when they were just trying to help."

"Robin, if you feel like you should go back then you have to go. Ava is your friend, whatever you could possibly say could never hurt them. It's okay to let down your emotions and let everything out."

I couldn't bring myself to say anything as Finn spoke. And he's not wrong on what he said either. Ava is my best friend, I've been turning them away since the moment we met, and yet they stuck with me through it all. I should apologise to them.

"You're right Finn, thank you," I said to him with slight tears in my eyes.

"You're welcome, Robin. Now finish what's left of your coffee and head home," he said to me with a smile.

Finn is honestly the best, I'm so glad that he stepped into the shop.

"Ava, I'm home!"

I was very hesitant to step inside, but all of this has to end eventually. At least Barkley made me feel slightly better when he greeted me. At first, I thought they weren't home till I hired a lot of noise coming from upstairs and then from the stairs.

"Robin! Where have you been?! You had me worried!"

Before I could even more or say anything, Ava ran towards me and hugs me tightly. They have every reason to, I did just took off without saying something or even bringing my phone with me. I couldn't even say anything to them right now, all I could do for now is to return the hug.

"Ava, I'm so very sorry," I said with a whisper.

"What for?"

"For everything. For my behaviour, for pushing you away, everything. I don't even know if words could express how very sorry I am."

"Does this mean you'll tell me what's been going on," she asked me as let go of me. I didn't have the energy to say anything, only to nod in response.

They didn't say anything either, but I could tell that they are happy to as they leads me to a nearby table for a seat. I took the time I have to get myself together before I started to talk again.

"The truth is, I was jealous," I said as I kept my gaze on the table, not daring to make eye contact with them but I could tell that they were shocked with my response.

"Jealous?"

"Yea, since the moment we meet; everything about you was perfect. Your life was so much better than mine, you had people who cared about you. While I was just left behind, no one wanted to give me a chance. And now that you have someone with you, to share a life with, but I was scared that you would forget about me."

I finally did it, I let out my emotions to Ava. They didn't say anything for a bit which made me terrified, my vision started to blur. I have cried in front of them before, but this is very different from the first time.

"You're silly if you think I could forget about you," Ava said with a soft tone. It honestly took me by surprise, that I have to lift my head to them.

"A lot of changes will happen, but none of it will ever affect our friendship. Even if we are living in another part of the world or if we might have left the store in someone else's hands, we will always be friends. You don't have to continue to be strong and exhaust yourself for my sake."

Words have failed me, I wasn't even expecting that. I honestly thought they were going to be mad at me, but instead, it was the very opposite. Then before I knew it, I started to cry. Most likely my hardest by far. Ava even got out of their seat to hug me. She didn't say anything but held me close. When I finally calmed down, I turned my attention to them and showed a smile.

"Now, how does a cup of tea sound," she asked me with a soft smile.

"That sounds lovely," I said.

With that, Ava got up and went behind the counter and began to brew the tea. As they got everything out and ready they turned their attention back to me.

"Why don't you head upstairs and get to bed, I'll bring the tea up."

I didn't say anything but only to as I was told, I couldn't help but smile to myself as I walked up to the bedroom with Barkley by my side. Thank you, Ava. For everything.
