Ava's pov
It felt like yesterday that me and Robin left college and I can still recall them giving a sucker punch to a random guy at a graduation party, but he had it coming really; he couldn't keep his hands to himself though at the same time I couldn't help but notice Robin is doing a lot better than before. She has done so much for me, I wanted to show how thankful I am so I got her a couple of gifts today. One of which is a vehicle that we can both use, and since she is a dog person, I figured that I could give them a group of fluffy friends to cuddle with after the situation with their parents, but I shouldn't worry about that. Right now we need to figure out what we should do next. However, I'm missing one last gift to give, something that can really surprise them.
I sat there in the kitchen as I look through an old photo album back when granny was running her shop; which I had no idea about before she and grandpa met. I made this an everyday routine whenever I would feel lost, I would look at these photos in hopes of finding what we both can do. The more I look over the pictures the more I wonder about whatever happened to her shop, is it still around? Demolished? Or did someone else buy it? So many questions ran through my head. If that shop is still standing then me and Robin will be well set for life. Then suddenly my train of thought was broken by the ringing of the house phone, I wasn't expecting anyone to be calling here anymore.
"Hello?" I said as I picked up the phone, then I heard a voice that I don't recognize.
"Hello Grace, you doing alright?"
"Not to be rude but, who is this?"
"Oh sorry, I must have the wrong number."
"You don't actually. Considering that you know my granny's name."
"Oh! You're related to Grace. Is she there with you?"
"No, I'm afraid not. She passed away long ago..."
"She did?! I had no idea, what am I going to do now..."
I have no idea who this person is but from the way he speaks about granny, he must have been close to her. She must have known a handful of people in her time. As I started to drift off the voice of the stranger has brought me back.
"Excuse me, but if it's alright I have something to ask of you. And I know that you'll be very pleased with it; especially since you're Grace's grandchild."
"You do? What is it?" I asked him as I suddenly feel more hopeful.

Robin's pov
Life in the city has become a bit crazy; one moment everything was sort of quiet then suddenly that all changed, thug gangs and criminals have been running around the street for some time now, people like my parents were working for one. I have a suspicion that the boss is connected to all the crimes within the city, but what's strange is that he hasn't been caught yet. It's only ever the people who work for him or know him, just like my parents, and since the day they got arrested the apartment has been empty and I doubt that anyone will buy it. Either way that isn't my problem anymore, right now I need to see what Ava wanted to tell me and from the sound of her voice; it must be really good news. Ever since we left college and said that we will start up a business together, others around us gave us the look of doubt, like we weren't going to make it but we'll show them, me and Avery will conquer it all.
