Ava's pov
I'm going to be honest, I already regretted the idea of getting on Seth's motorcycle. Only because I have never been on one, never in my life! So you could only ever imagine on terrifying it was for me as a passenger, but we still managed to get back to the shop. Now I can just only hope that Robin won't kill me for keeping her up.
"Welcome to my workplace/home," I said to Seth as we entered inside. I noticed that his eyes were travelling all over the place; it was hard to tell on what he was thinking right now but I think he likes it, considering that it was both calm and peaceful.
"You also live here?"
"Yeah. This shop was originally my grandma's but that was a long time ago. Now both me and my friend own the place since we moved in."
"Your friend?"
"Yeah, I think she is still in the kitchen. Come on, I'll introduce you to her," I said as I led Seth towards the kitchen. And when we entered, the large centre counter was topped off with food; a little bit too much food honestly.
"Finally back I see," said Robin in an annoyed tone as she sat across from us with a cup of coffee in hand. I can tell that she is mad at me and I can't blame her. Then her expression changes when she saw Seth standing next to me.
"You aren't kidding about not coming back alone. So, who is he?"
"Well, I'm glad you asked. Robin meet Seth, he's the reason why I came back late," I said while introducing them to each other.
"I see. Well, it's a pleaser to meet you, Seth." Robin said as she just smiled at him, but Seth on the other hand didn't say anything. He just stood there, staring at her with eyes widened and mouth slightly hung open. Then when he snapped out of his trance, he looked at the food that was out and ready.
"What is all of this?"
"It's food, what else."
"Yeah, but why? For what reason?"
"For you to eat obviously."
"You mean, you made all of this?"
"Yeah, only because Ava asked me to. Though I wish I could have gotten the full details on what was even happening then I wouldn't have made so much," she said while hardening her gaze at me.
"I'm sorry Robin!"
"So you should be! Did you have any idea how much of a pain it was to keep Bodega and the others away while I was making all of this!" She is not wrong on that, I clearly did not think the whole thing though when it came to the dogs. And Bodega will eat anything that's in here.
"Well, that really doesn't matter anymore since the food is still here. Better eat up while you can Seth."
"Thank you," he said as sat down and began to eat slowly but then he began to eat much faster. Robin has been amazing when it comes to food but I have never seen anyone who enjoys it as much as Seth. And since there was a lot of it, me and Robin also helped ourselves and eat. When we finally finished, I noticed that Seth had a soft expression as he smiled at Robin, with a slight blush?!
"That was delicious. Thanks, Robin."
"No problem, I'm glad you enjoyed it," she responded to him while blushing as well! There's no way this is leading where I think it's going, right? I better hurry and say something!
"Well, now that's out of the way, how about I show you to the extra bedroom."
"Sure thing," said Seth as I led him upstairs to the bedroom while trying not to wake up the dogs. There's no telling on what Barkley would do if he saw him.
"I hope that you will sleep well, Seth," I said as he sat down on the bed.
"I'm sure as hell I will. I can't remember the last time I was in a proper bed."
"Well don't get too used to it, you need to be up and ready for what tomorrow might bring. By the time you'll wake up I will already be over at Al's place; Robin knows the address so she'll help you get there."
"Thanks for this, Ava." I was honestly surprised by what just happened. For the whole day, Seth has only ever called me Jolene but now he actually called me by name. This is already a big improvement.
"You're welcome, Seth. Good night," I said as I closed the door, allowing him his own space now and went to the main bedroom but as I entered Robin was already in there, just sitting there. Waiting for me.
"I feel like it's about you explain Ava," she said to me with an unreadable expression. And she is right, it's about time I explained everything.
"Okay look, the truth is that Seth is the reason why the evening didn't go so well. Turns out; he is Alphonse ex-boyfriend."
"I see, well at least I got that answered but why bring him here?"
"I couldn't bring myself to let him sleep outside. Plus, stuff is happening between him and Al and I want them to make up and put everything behind them."
Nothing else was said after that, I think that Robin is just pondering what I said. And to be honest, I wasn't expecting her to be taking this all so calmly. Then again I didn't know what I was expecting.
"You certain that this is a good idea, Ava."
"I've been questioning that myself but I'm sure. I'd rather have the two of them live their lives with no heavyweight on their shoulders," I said to her as honesty filled my tone.
"Very well. I'll be sure to swing by with him then," she said with a smile.
"Thanks Robin."
"Don't mention it. I'll also call Emily and the others over to handle the morning shift."
"Thanks. Good night Robin."
"Night Ava."
(I'm SO sorry if this was awful but I really did try!😩 It's never easy to make up chapters on the spot. Also just as a heads up; I'm thinking about making a second book for the rest of the chapters, I just feel like it's best to do so rather than cramming everything into one story. I'll be sure to let it be known when we get there.)
