"I'm sorry but, who are you exactly?" I asked him which seemed to catch him by surprise, all on the fact he has yet to introduce himself.

"Shit, see I've gotta work on my social graces. Here, let me try again; hello darling, I'm Seth, the proud son of this town."

"And you, I don't recognise, you're nobody's kid I don't recall any of the other families around here having quite the cutie in their family tree," Seth said to me with a somewhat charming smile but yet forced. At least I know his name now.

"You're new here?"

"Something like that, I've been for about a year or so now," I said to him. I really didn't want to tell this guy anything but I can tell that he is someone to ever mess with.

"You've been here for a while then. Well a belated welcome to you, some new blood around here is exactly what we need. Though I must imagine it gets real boring around here."

"It does?"

"There's not a lot of folks in our age demographic, most people with any sense, they moved away and if they did come back well, there's really only one reason to come back. Tell me, do you know what that reason is?"

"I'm not sure, to be honest."

"No? Not even a guess?"

"I probably could take a guess but I don't feel like it, and even if I did, the random answer wouldn't sound right. Besides, there could be more than one reason to why someone would come back here. So I'm sorry but I can't enlighten you with an answer," I responded to his question with honesty while trying to mask my nervousness.

"No that's alright, I'm not one for games either," Seth answers back with another fake smile as he lifts his drink up and from the minute he said that I felt chills running down my spine.

"You see, the reason someone would come back to this backwoods shithole is because they were running from something."

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, so I need to ask you, do you know anyone around here who might be running from something?"

At first, I didn't know how I should handle his question, I didn't know what he meant to begin with. That was till an image of Alphonse appears in my head, which was then shortly followed by flashbacks to the times when he was talking a little bit about his past to me. It was then that the atmosphere between me and Seth suddenly felt more cold and sinister. Either way, I can't tell him anything about Al.

"I'm sorry I don't know anyone like that."

"No? Not ringing any bells?"

"Nope."

"Are you you're certain about that because-well look this isn't really any of my business but I'm going to make it my business," he said to me as his tone of voice started to change, he's getting frustrated while making me feel more at danger.

"You were saving this seat for someone weren't you?"

"No, of course not."

"Are you sure? You can tell me, I promise I-"

Just before he could continue his sentence my phone started to ring. I looked down at my screen, only to see that Al is trying to call me! God damn it why here and now Alphonse! This is such poor timing! I then hesitantly turned my attention back to Seth whose eyes were glued to the background picture on the screen, which was me and Al holding each other while I was kissing his cheek.

"That's a really cute picture of you too," said Seth as his eyes never left the picture, but what took me by surprise was that he sounded slightly sad. We didn't say anything else while the phone kept on ringing.

"Are you gonna answer that?"

"No..."

"Probably should."

"No, I don't think I should," I said as I started to cower with fear in my site.

"You really should, he's scared you see, and feeling really guilty that he left you high and dry. If you don't answer, he's going to think I did something stupid." It's not that I want to answer his call, I really wanted to hear his voice, but given the situation I am in right now.

"I tell you what, let me answer it ok?"

"What, now hold-"

"Ok," he said, no, more like interrupted me again! As he took my phone and accepted the call.

"Hello, Alphonse. Did you miss me?" There was nothing I could do now, or any more even. All I could do is watch this scene that's happening before.

"Relax, I'm just getting to know this sweet little thing of yours. You know, hanging someone out to dry who you supposedly love, that's real low. So you get your ass down here and have a drink with us and we won't have any problems." I didn't like the way he ended that sentence, from the looks of it, he is very capable of destroying me. And only the lord knows on what Al could be saying to Seth right now, let alone thinking.

"All I want is a conversation, you owe me that much don't you think?" Please don't listen to him Al, don't put yourself in danger just because of me!

"Yeah, I thought so too. See you soon," Seth said as he ended the call and placed my phone back on the bar counter. I still couldn't bring myself to say anything, even when his attention is back on me.

"I feel like I'm apologising a lot tonight but trust me when I say that scaring the shit out of you isn't exactly something I take any joy in."

"Wow, thanks for caring," I said with a slight sass in my voice.

"This isn't about you, this is about me and Al," Seth said while his hardened eyes never left me.

"I've been fully aware of that, Seth. But if you really don't mind me asking, why do you want to speak with Alphonse that badly? Do you hate him or something?"

"Hate him? Oh honey, I don't hate him, I probably should but no." Then suddenly, out of nowhere, he brought his face very close to mine which made me feel more scared than before, but I certainly wasn't prepared for what he was about to say. Something that made me so shocked that it felt like everything around me just stopped, even my heart.

"I love that stupid asshole."

"..What.."

(No hate against the same-sex love on my end!😁😊)
