Ava's pov
"Let me get this straight; this raccoon and his kiddos have an island, and you get to go there and live for free and work it off over time."
"Yea that's pretty much it," I said to Alphonse as I wrote down some new recipes.
Ever since he first came by to the store, he started to come around more. Of course, we still hang out at his place but I feel like he fell in love with the shop and what it has to offer. I even started to help him to get into a healthier lifestyle, and I feel like it's working. He started to work out a bit, and even though he still does his cam boy business as a backup since he still has to earn some money on the side. So Robin suggested that he should start doing a Livestream while playing video games. A part of kind of wishes that they haven't said that cause Al hasn't stopped asking us questions about Animal Crossing none stop.
"You finding that hard to believe?"
"Well, I mean normally I'd question that kind of indentured servitude but that's a small price to pay to live with cute animal friends on a peaceful island. It is peaceful, right? You don't have to make the villages fight to see who gets to stay on the island or go through some caverns and step by monsters or anything."
"Nope, completely peaceful."
"Shit, that sounds good to me! I need complete and total zen."
"So does that mean that you will invite us both to your Island," Robin said as she returned from the kitchen with a fresh cup of coffee.
"Let you come to my island?! That sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, you could bully my little animal friends and make them leave!"
"Oh come on Al! I'm not that mean. Right Ava," they asked me as I still kept my attention to my very own cookbook. There will come a time when no one would want to use granny Grace's book anymore when me and Robin pass the shop down for someone else to run. So I thought I'd start up my own book, just in case.
"See, even Ava thinks so!"
"Nah, I don't trust you! You both gotta pay a fee to get on my island."
"Your kidding, right," I asked him as I finally lifted my head up to him.
"I'm serious, ten smooches is minimal. I ain't that raccoon fellow, you two gotta pay up and if you want rights to get to pick where you live on the island; that's like a glute massage for sure, maybe a little happy ending. And by happy ending I mean kicking back together on the beach, watching the sunset, fishing and drinking some of that cute secretary dog ladies quote-unquote tea."
"Don't make it sound like she's a shady person," Robin while holding a cold stare at him.
"Yeah right, how much booze do you think she puts in that thing? That absolutely is a Long Island iced tea, I know it when I see it."
"Isabella isn't like that. Then again I guess she knows a thing or two when it comes to big events."
"Isabelle, right. Yeah, she looks like she knows how to party."
I will have to admit; despite Alphonse being a pain, it's still very nice to see the both of them bonding like this. As they both talked I took the opportunity to look at the time that's shown on the clock.
"Hey, it's dinner time for dogs. Can you two fill their bowls please," I said to them. I didn't get a response from them but they did nod their heads and went to get the food ready. Giving me a short moment of peace, also enough time for me to finish the page before they come. I need a short break anyways.
