Ava's pov

It was that time of year again, the year that bring out your inner child and you just want to eat sweets all day long. But of course, that didn't really last long for me when I was a kid. Ever since mom and dad passed away and my grandparents looking after me, I just started to drift away from it all but that didn't mean that I stopped celebrating all together. When you live with someone who has a long history of baking, it was pretty much an added boost. But today is going to be a little more different because I'm going to be helping Alphonse open up his Halloween booth in the town centre and Robin will also be there to. We haven't been talking to each other much but I'll find out what's wrong once our November break starts.

"Hey look at those jokers across the street, think the youths wanna bob for apples, they can’t compete with us! we got games of chance, games of skill and a bunch of free candy, hell yeah!"

"Settle down there pinkie, you have yet to sell anything," Robin said to Alphonse while making sure that the dogs don't go for candy that's left out.

"That is true, but he'll manage to get some work done," I responded to Robin.

Even after saying that they didn't turn their attention towards me; they just side-eyed me and looked away with a frown on their face. At first, I thought everything was okay but when Robin started to give that kind of attitude, I know for a fact that something really is wrong, but I knew that I couldn't talk about it out here without creating a scene. So all I can do is wait.

"Hey I appreciate you both helping me decorate, I don’t quite have the touch for that sort of thing, you saw me struggling with the fake spider webs. I look like a walking cotton swab before you got here to help," he said to us with a smile and causing Robin to laugh slightly.

"Now that sounds like an easy costume idea aside from a ghost."

"No, no, no, that's not a good idea for a costume. Can you imagine, here let me clean your ears."

After that, we all just started laughing but I can see where Robin was coming from with that idea, costumes now these days can't be taken seriously anymore. Like if anyone were to think of the first stupid thing that comes to their head then bam! Super dumb costume.

"Hey seriously though thanks for coming out, we make a hell of a Halloween tag team. I haven’t run a booth like this since hell, since I was a kid."

"Well, it wouldn't sound right if you didn't take part. You do run a candy store after all," I said to him.

"Yeah, I know, the candy man not participating in Halloween, that’s a missed opportunity not to mention it’s about damn time I started participating in the community events, if it wasn’t for you I’d probably still be cooped up and bitter. For real, you got me out of my candy-coated shell now my sweet ooey-gooey centre is spilling out all over the place."

It was a small moment of silence between all three of us, that was till I started to giggle. Whenever Al says stuff like that, I just can't take it seriously. And if I'm going to be the one who finds that funny, then Robin is going to be that person who would find it both unbelievable and disgusted. I should know since they went from a shocked face to a really expression.

"Dude, really?"

"Yeah, I guess that sounds, you know what I mean! Quit giggling!"

I swear that when these two are in the same room and once Al says something that sounds really dumb, it just makes me laugh very hard. Simply because Robin never had such interaction or a conversation with someone who could say something like that, it's honestly the best thing that I could ever witness, just seeing their facial expressions is just amazing.

"Yeah, yeah, keep it up and I ain’t going to be the only one getting ooey and gooey you goof."

I immediately calmed down down my laughing and looked at Alphonse with a surprised expression. He really is very bold to say something like that, especially when Robin is with us.

"You wouldn't, right?"

"That ain't a threat, it's a promise."

He really knows how to make me a blushing mess, his sweet-talking is both a blessing and a curse. I couldn't even look away from him as I hired Robin clicking her tongue in annoyance. Then we noticed that a kid has come up to the booth and started to take a lot of candy.
