Robin's pov

If someone were to ask me if I want to trade or change something in my life, I wouldn't do anything about it. For the past couple of weeks, it's been nothing but fun; the store is still doing amazing and Alphonse live streams are going full swing as well. He still does the cam boy business going but only as a backup and as promised me and Avery played Animal Crossing to help him out and get a better understanding of the game. And Ava kept their own promise and started to get him into a healthier lifestyle, and it is working. On some level I think she left a big impact on Al; one day he just walked into the store and asked for some help for getting a house. Now that former bedroom in the shop is now an extra storage room. I can see a lot of improvement slightly; he was a skinny bastard when I first met him and now he's starting to look so much more fitter, and I'm honestly happy for him.

At first, I thought that today was going to be like every other day. Working away in the shop, greeting and chatting with customers and watching with a smile as they interact with the dogs, but I was very wrong on that.

"See you later Ava and Robin," said Finn as he walks out of the store after paying.

"Still charming as ever." I couldn't help but smile as I watched him leave. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed that Ava was wiping down one of the tables, rather sluggish I might add.

"Hey Ava, you okay?"

"Yeah, don't worry about me," they said to me.

"You sure?"

They didn't say anything for a bit which caused me to worry. I immediately exit the counter and went up next to them. Standing this close to them I was beginning to notice that they had very little colour on their skin and without wasting anytime I took the cloth from their hands sit them down on the chair.

"Ava, have you been overworking," I ask them.

"Maybe a little but I'm not sick, I promise. I'm just a bit tired."

At first, I couldn't believe it. Ever since we opened the shop we never had something like this happening but in some way, it makes sense. We have been getting more and more people coming through the door, one after the other, and now it's starting to take a toll on us both.

"I know how you feel, I'm exhausted as well," I said as I sat down next to them.

"You know, I didn't want to think about this before, but I think it's time for an upgrade. And some new workers."

The minute they said that I couldn't help but stare at them with shock. Avery adores this shop, they enjoy everything here, every possible story in here of granny Grace when she was running this place, that they don't want to overwrite it; but they know that the change has to start. The only question is, how do we make it happen. We were so deep in thought that we didn't even hear the door being open.

"Hello you two," said an old yet recognisable voice that has brought us back to reality and turned our attention to the unexpected guest.

"Mayor?"

"This is a surprise," Ava said.

"My apologies. I would have said something but I just had to stop by to see you two. And from the looks of it, you both look like you're about to fall over," he said as he looked us over with worry.

"We're fine sir, it's just that, we just think it's about time to upgrade the shop a bit," I said to him.

"The only thing is that we don't know where to begin or how to make a start."

Not gonna lie, saying something like this to the mayor is somehow, very daunting. Especially since it was him and the community that put together shop for us when we arrived, so we really don't know how he would react.

"Well I wish that I knew this sooner but no matter, I can help you two out with this situation."

"You will?"

"Of course I will. I do owe Grace some favours after all, what better way to do that than by helping out her grandchild. The building on the left has been out of business for some time now and to this day no one has ever bought it, so may as well put it to good use," the mayor said with a smile. I honestly don't know what kind of reaction we were expecting but I'm glad we got this instead.

"Thank you, sir."

"If it's alright to ask, when would you like to make a start sir," Ava asked him.

"The now if that's alright with you two. I'll monitor everything as soon as the construction starts up, making sure nothing happens. I'll even send out a team to help with the furniture and put it somewhere safe, but that would mean that you both would have to sleep somewhere else."

"Well, I don't think we have a problem with that. Right, Ava."

"No problem at all, but what about the dog's sir."

"They can say with me at my place while this store gets done up."

"If that's the case, may I be allowed to stay at your place as well sir? Just to make sure they don't stress out so much in an unfamiliar environment," I asked him.

"Of course Robin, you are more than welcome to. What about you Ava, where will you be staying?"

"I'll just over with Alphonse. I'm sure he wouldn't mind once I explained to him."

"Every well then, that concludes the matter. Start packing you two!"

"Yes sir!" And with that, we both packed our stuff and went our different ways. Even though this was very sudden and that we weren't expecting it but I know for a fact that we will love the shop once it's finished.
