"Well you gonna get it, back here in the apartment," he said as he got up from the couch and lead me towards a small storage room. Filled with boxes that contain items that are both used and unused, but I certainly wasn't expecting nor ready for the story behind Betty.

"We were just grunts for the real criminals. You see, we did the dirty work; we would shake people down, handle gambling debts and hustle, petty crime usually but Seth was always willing to go a step further. It's funny how when you excuse one little step, and next thing you know you've reasoned and accepted that you're so far out of your comfort zone that you don't even recognise who you become, that was me but he’d always know exactly what to say to get me to stay."

In a way, I can understand what he was saying. There was a time when Robin had to do petty crime. Not for someone else but to live, especially when you come from a family who no longer cared for you. She was forced to live life the hard way and nobody else would help her, but I don't think I could ever imagine the world that Al ended becoming a part of or how scared he must have been at times.

"He was the muscle but he's got a silver tongue. When he wants to use it, he uses it. And then, my parents..."

"That's when they got caught up in an accident, wasn't it?" I asked him as a sad tone filled my voice. During that time, Al was a long way from home, doing terrible things and then to suddenly found out that something awful had happened to his parents. He must have been so upset.

"Yeah, so I had to come home and Seth was so angry and upset he wasn't even making any sense! So I ran away again, but I’m an idiot and I came back to him, one more time. The shity apartment we stayed in, it had its door kicked in and I saw the boss on top of him; that ex-boyfriend of his ma, he was on top of Seth, just beating the shit out of him. I mean bad. I’ll never forget it, Seth was just laying there, he didn't have a mark on his hands like he wasn’t trying to block, he didn’t fight back, nothing. I’ll never forget the way he looked at me with these eyes; they're almost swollen shut, bloody, he just looked like he was waiting to die."

At first, I didn't know what kind of Seth was to me. When I first meet him I just thought he was an everyday, rough house kind of guy who could fuck your day; but hearing Alphonse's story like this and hearing how defenceless he was, not even trying to fight back and was ready to accept death, I began to pity him.

"I ain’t much of a fighter you see, Seth would always get me out of trouble, he always handle it and he'd always be so strong. I never seen him lose a fight even though we’d become terrible, toxic, broken, he was my hero and there he was just given up, I couldn’t let that happen, so I grabbed Betty," he said to while turning his attention to me with an object in his hand. And that object was a knife, a pocket knife to be exact and the more I look at it, the more of a void is filling both my stomach and my heart. For one, I was worried that I know where this was going but also the fact that he kept something that belonged to Seth.

(I'll finish what's left in the next part. Honestly, I never thought that I would be doing a part five on this continuation chapter but I guess that is something to expect from this😅)
