Part two: Did he just ditched me?

"Now see you say that. You think I was just I don’t know what a little ruder, anti-social, maybe I spray painted some public property." When he said that, we both then shared a laugh. It may look like a silly thing to smile over but when you look back on something that could consider bad, but as time passes you can't take that part seriously. Perhaps the past Alphonse isn't too far from the truth.

"Listen, I want to be honest with you, but I hope you understand that if I had my way, you’d only have that idealistic picture of me in your Pretty Little head. it is not because I don’t trust you, never that! I trust you and I know I’m safe with you, I know I could tell you anything."

"Then what's holding you back," I asked him and I currently wasn't prepared for his response.

"It’s because I’m ashamed, because the man I used to be, I’m so much better than that now. I’m a totally different person and I like being this version of me, if I could I’d never have to even think about who I used to be. So look; the man I became is honestly that much better than the man I was, so if you ever truly wanna know who I used to be, I’ll tell you and I won’t hold nothing back," he said while turning his attention to me. I honestly feel like my heart was about to burst when I saw his frown and the soft vulnerable look in his eyes.

"My heart feels a lot lighter knowing that I buried that version of myself and that my days now or a lot happier, there’s so much more hope in my life. I love working at my shop even if I gotta keep that side hustle going, you know to keep the bills paid. I feel like I’m undoing all the wrong I did and to top it off, there’s you and I can’t get enough of you." The minute Al said that I began to blush. I know that we are in a relationship but I never thought I would make such an impact on him that much.

"Do you think or feel the same way about your shop?"

"Shop?"

"Yeah, do you have any big plans for it in the future?"

"Well, yeah. One day I’d like it to just be a candy shop but frankly, this town it's not exactly rocking that much of a population and selling general goods kinda helps me keep in business but you know maybe one day, I’ll have a proper candy shop in the city. For now, it’s kind of like I’m in limbo. Maybe I’m paying off all the debt I built up, you know, something deep about the sins of my past or something like that, I don’t know. Honestly, it's just nice to work on myself so that’s what I’m doing," Al said as he looked up at the stars, I can not disagree with him on that. It is important to reflect on yourself every once in a while, no matter how your life is. Doing that can help you out in the future, well sometimes. I was lost on that thought till Alphonse brought me back as he suddenly whispered in my ear.

"Of course you know I don’t mind doing a little work on you too."

"Al!" I exclaimed at him as my face blushed deeply while he just laughs at my flustered outburst, while the slight sound of a motorcycle filled the evening atmosphere.

"Hey, you wanna hit the Tavern and grab a drink? Or, or..."

I watched Al with a confused expression as he started to struggle to get words out. I even noticed that his eyes were glued to a motorcycle that passed by us and I swear that all colours he had on his face just instantly vanished.

"Al, you okay?" I asked him in worry. Then he turned his attention back to me, trying to act normal like nothing had happened but his eyes are telling a different story.

"Hey, I tell you what, I forgot something back at the shop I gotta go grab that!" He suddenly said to me as he started to back away slightly and slowly.

"Do you want me to come along?"

"No no! You go ahead, I’ll catch up, save me a seat will ya! I won’t be long I promise!"

"Alphonse, is something wrong?"

"Oh no no no no nothing to worry about babe, I’ll be back in a flash. Bye!" And with that, he just ran like lightning speed back to the store. Leaving me to walk at the tavern alone. What the hell just even happened?
