Part four: Making amends

I wanted to say something, do something to prevent Al from walking out the front door, but this is a situation where it's only him and Seth now. I nor Robin have the place to say anything or do something, so I can only hope that whatever Seth would say next will get Al to stay and to talk it out. Because right now I am slowly losing my patience with him and his behaviour.

"I forgave my dad this morning. You know he still has his morning coffee; half-naked in the living room, sitting in that god damn recliner. Idiot," said Seth and by some form of a miracle, it stopped Alphonse in his tracks. I guess that he wasn't expecting Seth to bring up his father since they didn't have a great relationship, it also explains why he and Robin arrived late. And to be honest, hearing and knowing that Seth went to see him before coming, it's so very sweet.

"He said you’ve been really happy since you came back, that you've grown into a fine young man, and I told him that if he had opened his eyes he would have seen that you were always fine and always good."

"Why are you telling me this? What do you hope to accomplish-"

"That's enough!"

I did not know what came over me, but clearly, I have snapped. I hardly ever recall a time when I lost my cool so this is obviously a first for me, for everyone in this room even. Robin was surprised by my outburst but slowly recovered from it, Seth just watched on quietly but I can tell that he was smirking, while Alphonse was shocked. There never was a moment where I had to raise my voice to him but now I have a reason.

"I didn't go through all of the trouble to make breakfast and to have the morning start off like this Al! I asked Seth to come over because it was about time that the two of you to finally make up, patch things up and settle everything once and for all! If anything, I'm doing you both a favour but I will not have this kind of attitude from you, do you understand?!"

"Okay, babe relax," Alphonse said as he just looks at me with wide eyes.

"Oh, I'll relax if you stop everything that your doing, be chill and behave! Alright?"

"Yeah I’m chilling, I’m good."

"See you done went and pissed her off. I tried to warn-"

"You behave as well, Seth. Enough with the shit talk," Robin said as she interrupts him with a warning tone.

"Okay, no more antagonising, you got it boss."

"Thank you for that Robin. And as for you Al, sit down," I said to him as I pulled out the chair next to Seth. He was reluctant at first, but he still listens.

"All right, I’ll sit but I don’t gotta be happy about it."

"Well if you think it's a good idea," Seth said with a nervous tone.

"That's all I can ask for. Now, let's move on to one of the reasons for being here," I said as I brought out the food onto the table. You can easily tell that these two boys were hungry but are trying to hide it.

"As delicious as your buns are I don’t know if I’ve got much of an appetite right now."

"Whoa hey, no need to rub it in my face. You two fuck, I got it, congratulations on sex."

From the moment Seth said that, came a lot of different reactions. I was flustered, Alphonse was stunned and Robin was just laughing. You can hear both weird and odd things being said at a table every now and then, but I didn't think that he would say something like that. If anything I think that it hit Al hard and from the looks of it, Seth seems to regret saying that now.

"I didn’t, for once I didn’t mean it like that."

"This is really weird and really uncomfortable. I’m not trying to stick around any longer than I have to. If I wanted to make your life hell, I would have come up with something way more devious than coming over for breakfast."

"I’m the one getting cuffed over here."

"Come on I’m kidding, it’s a joke. A little jokey joke. I mean not really but using humour, when I’m in the middle of a really fucked up situation as a coping mechanism of mine."

He's not wrong on that; despite the situation, you would see someone trying to make the most of positivity during a dark moment. Robin would know that for a fact since she knew someone who was similar. She was quiet, a bit skittish, some screws lose but was still a good person at the end of the day. Thinking about her now just makes me wonder if she's upset with us since we did leave the city without saying anything. I should probably ask Robin when the time is right. For now, I can tell that these two are about to have a heart to heart moment, at long last.
