"Magnus, wake up!" Those were the first words I heard this morning when I was awoken from my serene sleep.
I grumbled, opening and rubbing my bleary eyes, seeing Mabel bounce up and down ebulliently on my bed, not even an ounce of exhaustion creeping its way onto her features. I was going to lambast her but resile from this, opting instead to talk this out diplomatically.
I raise my eyebrows, trying my best to mask my annoyance. "Yes, Mabel?"
"Grunkle Stan's setting up a fair, get up!" Mabel exclaims, shaking me vigorously.
"Okay, okay relax," I get Mabel's hands off me, wriggling out of her grip and put on my glasses. I pretend to scoot to the ladder but instantly lay back down, refusing to get up. "I want to go back to sleep."
"No, you're getting up now!" Mabel whined loudly, dragging me out of my bed so I reluctantly descend my ladder, groaning loudly to make my displeasure known. Mabel did not seem to be the least bit disconcerted or fazed by this as she continued to drag me as soon as my feet brushed the ground.
"Dipper, help," I plead to my brother who was standing by the bedroom's doorway, watching the commotion with an amused look plastered on his face.
Dipper shakes his head, smiling at me smugly, erupting in a fit of giggles. "Nope, you're on your own."
"I'll burn that journal of yours once I get back!" I bluster, yelling back at him once I was in the corridor to frighten him. 'How dare he not help me!'
I hear Dipper audibly gulp from where I was, silently laughing evilly and making it to the bathroom, I brush my teeth, slipping on the run-of-the-mill graphic t-shirt and khaki shorts once I finish.
I ambled downstairs, approaching Mabel after I see her with Dipper. "Mabel, why did you wake me up at 8 am in the morning again?"
"You're gonna help us set up the fair right?" Mabel looks at me hopefully.
"You woke me up just for that? I'm going back to bed," I turn away from them, walking back to our bedroom nonchalantly.
As I was about to go upstairs, Mabel drags me back down again and looks at me with her best puppy eyes. "Please?"
I make the mistake of looking into those darn mesmerising eyes, getting entranced by them almost instantly. "Fine, just because you look so cute when you make those puppy eyes."
"Yes!" Mabel exclaims triumphantly.
I only sigh in defeat as I let Shooting Star drag my poor brother and me to the site of the fair.
Time Skip
After three hours of working our fingers to the bone and toiling away, we finally finish setting up everything.
As I slump down in the Shack to rest, I instantaneously cover my ears as Stan's megaphone screeches right outside of the Shack, indicating that the fair had just commenced.'What to do now? I guess I could explore the fair.'
I stride out of the Shack, strolling around the fair to find the twins, glancing at the myriad attractions, games and food stalls that were available as I did. 'I might as well catch Dipper in the act.' I spot Dipper talking to Wendy, biding my time and waiting for the apt moment to strike.
That particular moment came when I see Wendy walking away so I immediately sneak up behind Dipper with my phone at the ready.
Only a few seconds had flown by and he was already whispering what I wanted him to. "I love you!" 'Well, that was easy.'
"Aww," I coo teasingly. "how sweet of you, Dipper."
The aforementioned boy turns his head in surprise, jumping back and unleashing his girly scream. "Magnus, delete that now!"
