Time Skip
The next day, we return to the pool. Fortunately, Mabel manages to make it back to the bedroom before Dipper woke up. And thankfully, Dipper didn't find out about her late-night escapade because if he did, he would flip and not just kill her, he'd also probably kill me as well because I knew about it.
I was busy swimming laps, making an attempt to get somewhat fitter when I see Mr Poolcheck reprimanding Dipper for not taking care of the pool supplies. Dipper gives Mr Poolcheck a salute, promising him that it would never happen again, determined to retain his role as the assistant lifeguard.
I shake my head and plunge my head back into the water, swimming to the other end of the pool. As soon as I reach the opposite end, I resurface, popping my head out and observing my surroundings to ensure that nothing bad was happening. Mabel, I observed was no doubt talking about her escape plan tonight with Mermando while Dipper, on the other hand, seemed to be relishing his time with Wendy. Admittedly, seeing them having their own companions or buddies to talk to and turn to kinda made me feel a little lonely. I shake the thought away, resting for a few minutes before I took off for my next few laps.
Before I could, however, I was interrupted by someone who bumped into me, a girl who looked around the same age as me. She was sylphlike, her blond hair sagging beyond her shoulders, white skin that was as soft and smooth as tapioca pearls, her hazel-brown eyes staring into mine when my gaze met hers. "Oh, I'm so sorry about that!"
(Hello future readers! Sorry for the little interruption, I am writing this when I have in fact completed this book! Thanks to Erica_2020, we finally have this beautiful picture of Casey so a huge shout out to her! Check her profile out, she has written quite a few good books herself (We may even have something planned for the future, wink wink.) Anyway, back to the story!
"No, it's okay." I give out my standard greeting. "I believe we have not formally met yet, what's your name?"
"My name is Casey, what's your name?"
"Nice name," I compliment. "My name is Magnus."
"Pleasure to meet you, Magnus," Casey extends her hand out for a handshake.
I shook her outstretched hand. "The pleasure is all mine." I release her hand, still thinking about its marble-smooth complexion when I make small talk with her. "So what brings you to the pool?" 'Finally, my prayers have been answered.'
"The hot weather, pretty much the same reason as everyone else."
"Sorry," I facepalm, allowing myself to flush a little. "that was a stupid question. Forgive me, my social skills aren't really my forte."
She giggles at this, proceeding to pose a question to me. "How long have you stayed in this town for?" Casey questions, her eyes ablaze with curiosity.
"Actually, I've only spent around one and a half months in this town. Our parents sent me and my triplets to Gravity Falls for the summer," I explained.
