My head was spinning, pain harassing my body as a result of yesterday's training.
I could still remember what happened yesterday night as if it happened just minutes ago.
Flashback:
"Magnus, stop! I know you need a lot of energy to execute this but you're drawing too much energy! You'll kill yourself if you go on like this!" 'Almost executed myself before I could even execute the move.'
My eyes squinted in concentration as I focused on my environment. "I can handle it."
"No, you can't!" Then a pool of darkness swarmed over my eyes and engulfed me entirely.
End Of Flashback
"Magnus? Oh, thank goodness you're awake." Not the voice I'd expect to hear first thing in the morning, but I was relieved nonetheless.
I look up and see Ford presiding over my body, my body strapped on to some kind of machine. "What is that machine?" I ask groggily.
"It is a machine that I invented to steady heartbeats and control energy levels, I'd figure it come in handy one day. How are you feeling?"
"I-uh, feel slightly better, though my body is still in pain and I have a splitting headache at the moment," I answered honestly.
"Here, take this," Ford sets down a tablet on the table beside me. "It's a pill I got from one of the Axolotl's followers, it's supposed to help accelerate your healing and helps to relieve the pain you're feeling temporarily."
"Thanks, Ford," I gulp the tablet down with my spit. "For everything. If it's fine with you, I'm going to go back to my bedroom now."
"Wait! Just before you go, you should be more careful next time. You would have died if not for me. Next time, when I tell you to stop drawing energy, you stop drawing it, alright?"
I nod and got up from the table I was lying on, unstrapping myself from the machine. "I understand."
Ford shook his head in disbelief. "There has to be another alternative, this is too hard for anyone to master in this short period of time."
"There isn't so I will continue to learn."
"Fine, now go. I have to continue working, make sure you don't overexert yourself and get plenty of rest," he advised.
"I will, in fact, I'm going on a road trip with Stan, my triplets and my friends today if memory serves me right."
Ford looked at me in slight shock. "What? When will you come back?"
"I don't know, two to three days later, perhaps?"
Ford waved me off. "Fine, just go. You'll need to recharge and recover if you're attempting this again. Just rest, don't use your necklace within these two to three days, okay?"
"Okay, not to worry, I won't, unless it's warranted or merited."
"You can decide for yourself. Now leave, I have things to attend to," he said distantly.
"I'll leave you to it. Good luck and thanks for everything." After hearing his murmur of acknowledgement, I take the lift back up, where I trot up the stairs and emerge from the vending machine, the pain I felt earlier starting to palliate. I then make my way up to our bedroom, seeing Mabel and Casey inside, with Dipper pacing around frantically.
"Magnus!" Casey cried and made her way over to me, hugging me immediately the instant I stepped in.
"Hey," I said, wincing a little in pain. "How are you doing?"
