I stood up languidly, clutching my chest that throbbed with pain and ached as if it were seared by flames and take a few tottering steps towards the twins, settling down next to them clumsily when I reach them.

"Are you okay?" Dipper cast an anxious glance at me and immediately saw what I was holding.

"Yeah," I lied. "Just a little hurt from slamming down onto the floor and injuring my chest. Hopefully, it should be better in a few days time."

"Do you need painkillers or anything?" Mabel chimed in, taking up the vacant position on the other side of me and gave my hand a gentle squeeze. I shook my head, not wanting to speak so that the pain I was dealing with didn't exacerbate any further.

"Let me see," Dipper tapped his knuckle against my chest lightly in different regions until he reached the affected area, the bottom region of my right rib.

"Ow!" I yelped and flinched in pain, pulling away from Dipper instantaneously. Mabel helped to steady me, squeezing my shoulder to reinstall some composure. I silently thank her and went back to Dipper.

"Sorry, now, let me take a look," Dipper reached for my shirt and pulled it upwards to inspect the affected area, causing my cheeks to heat up a bit.

"Yikes," was all he said while wincing and pulling my shirt back down.

I gave him a questioning glance, demanding silently that he inform me of the extent of my injury.

"The right side of your ribs, well the bottom area of it is swollen pretty badly, but it should recover in a few days."

"I hope so," I said and clutched my chest again. The twins were interrupted by Stan and Ford, who had just begun conversing with each other.

Stan opened his arms wide in a welcoming embrace, approaching him slowly and steadily. "Finally! After all these long years of waiting, you're actually here! Brother!"

Ford had no interest in reciprocating the affection shown by Stan as he punched his brother in the face once he was in range.

"Oh! Ow! What the heck was that for?!" Stan asked in outrage.

"This was an insanely risky move: restarting the portal! Didn't you read my warnings?!"

"Warnings, schmarnings. How's about maybe a thanks for saving you from what appears to be, I don't know, some kind of sci-fi sideburn dimension?" Stan said nonchalantly.

"Thank you? You really think I'm gonna thank you after what you DID THIRTY YEARS AGO?!" Ford asked furiously, already seething and livid after recalling what Stan did to him.

"Magnus, I know you're in pain and I'm sorry about that, but what did Grunkle Stan even do? To his brother? Is he really his brother?" Dipper whispered, his gaze still locked onto the older twins.

"Dipper, he's in pain!" Mabel chastised. The young 12-year old boy rubs his neck abashedly and flushes in response.

"Dipper," I said in pained and shallow breaths, the words I wanted to tell him coming to me slowly. "One question at a time, please. But yes, that is Stan's brother and what happened to him will be revealed soon."

"Thanks and sorry, you should just rest, you shouldn't even be talking."

I nodded and laid back on the walls behind me, letting the walls support my head and letting my body occupy the ground in my immediate vicinity.

I watch Ford and Stan's little altercation play out, the former eventually pinning the latter to the ground which happened to be the exact moment Mabel decided to intervene, standing up and waving her hands, succeeding in gaining Stan and Ford's attention, thereby preventing the fight from escalating any further.
