Not What He Seems

It was now a few days after the events that had transpired at the Northwest Mansion, all of us taking a well-earned rest from all of our adventures temporarily, because the real one, as far as I know, was yet to come.

It was midnight when it happened, I was sound asleep, along with the twins. This time, however, I was eviscerated of the reassuring presence of Casey next to me, as she was having a sleepover with Pacifica at her mansion.

I felt myself floating upwards briefly and waking up, instantly getting what was happening, a portent of what was to come.

I look over at the twins once we fell back to our original positions and thankfully, the twins did not seem to be affected by it in the least, both of them still maintaining their tranquil countenance in their state of repose.

I lull myself back to sleep, physically and mentally preparing myself for the coming events and the appearance of a certain someone that I knew would be a breath of fresh air in my endeavour to understand the true powers of my necklace and to help deepen my understanding of my purpose in this universe.

 Time Skip

"Ahh! It's here it's here it's here!" Mabel exclaimed and continued running to the room she wanted to show us while a weary Dipper tailed her from behind, pulling me along with him.

"Okay, so I was just opening random doors - because I'm a creep - when I found something amazing!" Mabel flailed her arms wildly.

"Oooh, I wonder what's in there?" I asked sarcastically and grumbled.

Dipper rubbed his bleary eyes in vexation. "Is it anything amazing? Well, it better be if it was worth waking up at seven AM for."

"Magnus, you probably already know what's in there. Anyway, feast your eyes!" Mabel shouted and opened the door to the room she lead us to, and to absolutely no one's surprise, the room was laden with firecrackers.

Dipper's eyes instantly widen and he suddenly looked rejuvenated once the sight of fireworks met his eyes. "Whoa!"

Mabel places her hands on each of our shoulders. "Bros. Bros. We three are thinking it."

"Crazy rooftop fireworks party!" Dipper and Mabel shout simultaneously.

I brush Mabel's hand off me gently. "Sorry guys, I don't really like fireworks, so I'll sit this one out, you guys go ahead and have fun, just make sure you don't injure yourselves."

Mabel grabs my hand in an adamantine and steel grip. "Nuh-uh, not on my watch! You're coming with us! Whether you like it or not." Mabel gives me her best puppy eyes, "Plus, you've been spending so much time with Casey so you should spend more time with us!"

"But I do spend time with you guys! I literally talk to you guys every day and still play with you," I argued.

"You haven't been spending as much time with us as you used to!" Mabel retaliated.

"Fair enough," I admitted. "Fine, I'll join you guys."

"Yes!" Mabel pumped her fist in triumph.

Stan then steps up to us before we could run off to the roof, his stern gaze causing Dipper and Mabel to shrink back in fear. "Not so fast, kids! There is no way on earth you're setting off those dangerous, illegal fireworks..." Stan pauses and smiles, bending down to our level and putting his arms around us. "Without me."

"Very responsible of you Stan," I crossed my arms and looked at him disapprovingly.

Stan waves me off while the twins were climbing up the ladder to the rooftop. "You'll understand when you grow up, Magnus."
