She paused transiently to compose herself. "The building that you saw just now was an orphanage, where I stayed in and called home for the majority of my life until I was adopted and that was probably when I was six or seven years old."

I felt as if someone had just punched me a hundred times and over, her admission causing an incursion of sympathy and sadness to crash over me in waves. "I-I don't know what to say. I'm so sorry." I grab her hand and gave it a gentle squeeze.

"Well, don't be. I've never met my biological parents before but they certainly didn't care about me like you or your triplets do or my adopted father does."

"But your father is rarely at home, doesn't he always go to that other town to work?" I enquired.

Her face instantly contorts with anger, evidently upset that I had said that. "He knows that I can take care of myself, Magnus and besides, he provides for me and shelters me, what more can I ask for? Sure, he doesn't really spend that much time with me because he's busy, but from the times we've spent together, I know he loves me like his own child."

"I'm so sorry for asking you that. I should have known it was a sensitive topic, please forgive me," I looked at her ashamedly.

She only lets out a disapproving sigh. "Magnus, you should think before saying something."

"I will next time, I promise. Anyways, since I'm already beginning to feel tired from staying in the mindscape for this long, I only have one more question for you."

"Ask away," she waved her hand.

"Was the orphanage really important to you?"

"In a way, it was. Although the living conditions were horrendous, to say the least. But, I got to meet new people and the housekeepers there raised us up well. Although they were strict and I did fear their punishments, they taught us about manners and etiquette. They are one of the reasons why I am who I am today."

"Wow, thanks Casey, it takes a lot of bravery in a person to reveal and divulge something very personal to them and you certainly don't lack in bravery at all." I stood up, clapping her on the back and helped her to her feet. As soon as she stood on her two feet, I give her a quick hug and whispered to her, "Thanks for being the best girlfriend ever."

"And thanks for being there for me when I need you," she returned the hug and released it.

"Of course, Casey. Like I said just now, anything for you. Now, I'll have to leave now, I'm running out of energy I'm afraid. Stay safe Casey, don't do anything stupid and try not to miss me too much."

"I won't miss you a single bit and you should be telling yourself not to do anything stupid, not me, but," she walked up to me and pecked me on the cheek. "I'll see you tomorrow, make sure you're still in one piece by then. I don't want to see you injured in any way."

"I'll make sure I'm in one piece for you tomorrow, see you Casey," I pecked her back on the cheek and willed myself to vanish from the mindscape and return to the physical world as she held onto my hand in her tender and endearing way. I see my spiritual and ghostly form slowly fade out of existence in the mindscape, and suddenly, I was back in the real world, where Stan had almost finished telling his story. I immediately take in massive gulps of air around me, panting and sweating furiously, my shirt already sticking onto my back like glue.

"I couldn't risk anyone learning the truth and sabotaging my mission, so I lied to everyone: the town, my family, your parents, even you kids," I heard Stan telling the group sincerely from afar.

"So all this time you were just trying to save your brother. Grunkle Stan, I'm so sorry I didn't believe you," I eyed Dipper looking at Stan ashamedly and for some silly reason, I just started coughing, perhaps due to the dust that floated around the air around me, accompanied by wheezing and more panting, effectively revealing my hiding place to the gang.
