Flashback Starts:

A more youthful Dipper and I were sitting on either side of Mabel who looked as equally youthful as us.

"Darn allergies," Dipper sniffled, his nose as red as a tomato.

Mabel puts on another slap bracelet, her arms covered with them and a broad smile present on her face. "Boom! A million slap bracelets! I'm gonna have the best photo ever! And how d'you like my new pigtaaailllls?" She shakes her hair back and forth.

"Yeah, um, they look nice Mabel," I commented, who I had to say was looking very adorable in that brown windbreaker.

"Thanks," Mabel grinned at me.

Out of nowhere, another young girl appears and slaps some gum on her hair. "Have fun, brat!"

Her antics sparked laughter from the other kids around us and caused Mabel to run away from us in tears, both Dipper and I looking at each other helplessly, not knowing what to do in the situation.

"Mabel's fantasy was having a great school photo, but reality had other plans," Xyler informed us sadly.

"Look, that was one bad day!" Dipper snarled.

"One of many. February fourteenth, fourth grade. Valentine's Day," Xyler flipped to another page.

"Oh no," Dipper looked at me sadly.

"It's okay, don't need to feel so ashamed by it. Romance and relationships aren't so important anyway," I advised, already knowing how it was going to turn out until I started watching the flashback play out. "Wait, what?"

Flashback Starts:

"How many valentines did you get, Magnus?" I see the younger Mabel asking me, her bag bursting at the seams with Valentine's cards while Dipper received a handful himself.

I shake my bag and of course, nothing comes out. 'Really? Man, I can't catch a break.'

Some random fat kid decides to mock me for it. "Oh, hey, haha! Magnus didn't get any! Oh, man, I thought I was the class loser! Hey, everyone, Maggy didn't get any!"

"Maggy! Maggy! Maggy!" The whole class starts except Dipper and Mabel starts chanting and the flashback ends there.

"Your Honour, I'd like to raise an objection. I don't see how this is pertinent to the case at hand," I said politely, hiding my indignation at those fictional and made-up brothers Mabel liked so much.

"Meowveruled," the indolent judge waves dismissively. "Carry on."

"Anyway, I have a girlfriend now so that doesn't mean anything to me now," I remarked.

"Yeah, and now she's gone for the entire summer. For all you know, she's probably having a merry time, forgetting all about you and dating other guys," Xyler retaliated.

"Excuse me?" I clenched my fists in anger. "You better take that back now," I said quietly, standing up and glowering at them.

The judge cleared his throat. "Sit down, Magnus. Remember, one more outburst and you're gone."

I sit down reluctantly, glaring at Xyler and Craz silently but ultimately letting them continue in their explanation.

"Is your life any better now, bro?" Xyler asked, stopping at a blank page in Mabel's scrapbook. The page in the scrapbook flashes back to me crying in the golf cart the day Casey left. "Grief." The image changes to one where I was seized by the One-Arm Monstrosity. "Disaster." Finally, the image metamorphoses into the one where I argued with Mabel and insulted her during Dipper and Mabel vs. The Future. "Arguments. That's reality for you."
