Ivy

Silence. Awkward silence. The kind of silence that pierces through your ears.

That's all I hear as we sit on the couch we kissed on just a few days ago.

I nervously type on my laptop, Aaron watching what I'm doing intently.

"Move that to the other slide," he instructs. That's the first words he's said since he got here.

"No, it looks better like this." I continue what I'm doing, and he snatches the laptop away from me.

The slides that I worked on, that I spent an extensive amount of time on, get changed by him. I feel myself boiling with anger.

"What the hell's your problem, Aaron?"

"My problem? What's your problem?"

The audacity of this boy.

"You can't be messing with my work, and stealing my lap-"

"It was only a kiss, Ivy." And my heart drops as soon as the words leave his mouth.

He knew; he knew this whole time what was really bothering me, and in that moment, I realize he never really cared.
