Ava
I see Liam sitting by the bleachers, eating lunch alone. "Hi stranger," I say. He doesn't look like he's in a good mood, so I sit down in silence, just like he did for me yesterday.
"Sorry, I just-I'm not doing too well right now," he says. I nod. This probably has something to do with the menace that is Ivy.
"What happened?" I ask anyway.
"There's this girl that I've liked for so long, and she did something messed up, and-and I yelled at her today. I don't know; maybe it was too far."
He yelled at her? I should be happy about this, jumping up and down for finally having a chance with Liam, but why do I feel bad? For Liam and her.
Damn you, morals, but even my morals aren't strong enough to at least consider saying, "I don't think you're wrong. She seems rude, and I don't think you should talk to her anymore."
But another part of me wants to say, "I think you should both apologize. Maybe she didn't mean to hurt you, and it seems like you didn't mean to either."
Ultimately, I give him the choice. "What do you think you should do?" And of course, he decides to go after her again, choose her again. He's going to forget about me again.
