Ivy
"Should I wear a dress, or is that too formal? Maybe jeans?" I wander around my room, rummaging through my clothes, and unable to decide what I like.
I'm meeting Aaron's family today, and I'm kinda freaking out. He hasn't told me much about them, so even convincing him to go today has been a huge feat.
"Which one?" I get annoyed, and he finally looks at me.
"It doesn't matter. We can just bail if you don't wanna go," he shrugs.
"It matters to me, and we are going, just tell me which one?" I hold out a dress in one hand, a t-shirt, and jeans in the other.
"Wear the dress." I nod, happy that I got a response out of him. He seems oddly nervous, though, and I'm not sure why.
In order to make him feel better, I lay beside him in bed, lifting his chin with my finger. "What's wrong?"
"They're just-they're not worth it, Ivy, and what if they say something to you..." He starts to ramble.
"Hey," I stop him. "No matter what happens today, I'm with you, alright?" He nods. "And trust me, I know a thing or two about shitty families."
