"Who are you? Natasha asked slowly walking towards the figure. You followed along behind her.

"Consider me a guide..." The voice replied to Natasha's question

"To you and to all who seek the soul stone," He added

You were a little scared but you were trained on how to hide your emotions that there was no way that either one of them would be able to tell.

"You tell us where it is, then we'll be on our way," Natasha demanded.

He mumbled something in what you were almost certain was german but you couldn't quite make out the majority of what he was saying.

As he got closer to you both you could finally see his face. He had a red face and very unusual facial features.

"If only it were that easy," he said. That one sentence caused what felt like a million questions to run through your head.

He started moving and Natasha took your hand and started following him.

He led you both to the edge of the mountain.

"What you seek lies in front of you. As does what you fear."

Natasha was standing far too close to the edge of the cliff for your liking. You pulled her arm back a few times hoping that she would understand what you doing and thankfully she did and she took a few steps back

"Stone's down there?" Natasha said not looking away from the bottom of the cliff.

"For one of you. For the other in order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange. A soul for a soul." He said Sounding unphased.

Everything that he says sends waves of chills through your body.

Natasha walks off leading you away from the edge before she lets go of your hand and goes and sits down on a nearby rock.

You want to sit beside her and give her as much comfort as you possibly could but ever since you learned how to walk you have never been able to sit still when you're frightened.

Since you never got cared for when you were young being trained by HYDRA you had learned and pacing back and forth helped you feel less afraid. Even when Natasha rescued you and she was always with you it was never something that you outgrew.

"Do you think he's lying?" You say as you stop right in front of Natasha.

"No, I don't think so," Nat replied sounding sad

"How can you be so sure?" You ask her curiously. You can tell that she's losing hope that the both of you are going to leave here together and you're starting to lose hope too.

"Thanos left here with the stone without his daughter. it's not a coincidence."

"Yeah," you said quietly before you started pacing again.

"Whatever it takes," she said softly.

"Whatever it takes," you repeated.

Natasha quickly stood up and walked over to you.
