Steve had returned home from a life-threatening mission with one less teammate than what he left with.

He walked into the living room and saw his wife sitting on the sofa watching tv.

"Where's Y/N?" Steve asked sitting down on the sofa beside Natasha.

"Nice to see you too," Natasha said turning off the tv

"Sorry honey." Steve said giving her a quick peck on the lips "I've missed you." He slightly smiled.

"I've missed you too." Natasha smiled picking up the glass cup from the coffee table and stood up.

"Y/N's in bed honey," Natasha said walking into the kitchen.

"Are you sure? when was the last time you checked on her?" Steve panicked following Natasha into the kitchen.

"Steve, what's going on with you?" Natasha asked placing the glass on the counter and then turning around to look at him.

Steve looked down at the ground. Guilt was written all over his face. "Nat, honey, I'm so sorry they know about Y/N. Bucky was also captured and because of that they will know where she is if they don't already."

"What?" Natasha said. Her arm caused the cup to fall off the counter and smash she kneeled to pick it up but a shard cut her hand.

"Shit." She hissed

Steve places his hands on her shoulders and raised her carefully leading her away from the glass got out of the first aid box and started cleaning her wound.

"Don't worry, Nat, Y/N will be safe I promise I'm going to go back to that base, save bucky and...."

"So he's more important than your own daughter?" Natasha asked aggressively pulling her hands away.

"What, no, it's just that I need to save Bucky first to keep Y/N safe."

"No I get it your best friend will always mean more to you than your own flesh and blood," Natasha stated then she walked back into the living room.

"What are you getting so worked up about it's not like she's going to be here alone you'll be here with her." Steve followed her.

"That's not the point Steve." Natasha sighed. "It's the fact that you're leaving her at a time when she needs up both with her."
