Prompt: Dimitri calls Theo over and he's wearing plain clothes to make Theo think he's depressed but little did Theo know...it was the first of April *dramatic music*

“I’m going to Dimitri’s,” I said. He had texted me to come over, and I was bored anyways.

“Alright, have fun,” dad said without looking up from the newspaper.

I left the house and got in my car, blasting my music as I drove. I really hoped he didn’t get too many sparkles on me today.

I pulled into Dimitri’s and got out of the car, ringing the doorbell. His dad let me in, smiling at me.

“Hi Theo. Dimitri is in his room,” he said.

“Thanks,” I said before turning and heading up the stairs. I went down the hallway to Dimitri’s room, knocking and opening the door. “Dimitri, I’m here.”

I stepped into his room and my eyes widened in shock as they landed on the breathtakingly attractive boy leaning against the dresser. Dimitri looked over at me slowly.

He was wearing plain blue jeans that weren’t super tight on him. He had on a gray T-shirt with a blue plaid shirt unbuttoned over it, bringing out his frosty eyes. There was no color in his hair as it laid plainly on his head, hiding his ears. His nose ring flashed with a reflection of light. There was no nail polish on his hands, no rings. Just the bracelets Kim had made him for his birthday every year stacked on his right arm.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, closing his door and moving over to him. “What happened?”

“I don’t want to talk about it, Theo,” he mumbled, not even speaking like himself. His voice was deep, his accent potent.

I wrapped my arms around his waist. “Dimitri, please talk to me! What happened?!”

I hated seeing Dimitri like this. It just wasn’t even Dimitri! I liked it when he wore his embarrassingly outrageous clothes. I liked his stupid purple fohawk. I liked his sparkles, even if I didn’t want them getting all over me.

Dimitri half heartedly shooed his cat off of the dresser, fixing the bottle of hair gel Hugo had knocked over. I watched him, my heart sinking. What the hell had happened to make Dimitri this freaking upset?! Had I done something…?

“Hey, let’s go on a date. We can go out to dinner,” I said, knowing he loved that kind of simple stuff.

“No, I don’t feel like it,” he said, sitting on the end of his bed.

I went over, tilting his head up, looking at him in concern. “Please, talk to me. What’s wrong?”

He pushed my arm away gently. “I don’t want to talk about it.”

“And I don’t want to see you like this. Let me know what happened! Let me help!” I said.

“There is nothing you can do, Theo,” he said.

                “Dimitri, please!” I practically begged.

“I suppose there is one thing,” he said with a heavy sigh.

“What is it?” I asked. I’d do anything to get him back to his obnoxious self.

                “Check your phone,” he said.

I pulled out my phone in confusion, checking it. “There’s no notifications.”

“Look at the date,” he said.

I checked it and nearly slapped myself. I glared at Dimitri, and a grin spread on his face.

“April Fool’s Day, little Theodore,” he said, pulling me onto his lap and kissing me. “I could not let the day end without pranking you a bit. I apologize for your distress.”

“I hate you,” I informed him, but did relax now that I knew he was feeling alright.

He hugged me to his chest and kissed me again. “You do not, darling! You love me, and I love you!” His voice had gone up a little higher as he attempted to get his accent under control again.

I wrapped my arms around his neck. “If you ever do that again, I’m forbidding you from sparkling for the rest of your life.”

“You offend me,” he said, laughing. “I apologize for my cruel prank, but it was satisfying to see your expression.”

“Jerk. You’re lucky I love you,” I said with a sigh, kissing my asshole of a boyfriend.
