A/N Nearly 70K reads is absolutely insane. I say this every time but I am so grateful for you guys! I am gonna try my best to start dropping these other fanfics that I've been working on and also trying to keep up with this one! This is the first chapter of season three so let's jump right in!

"Is it gonna hurt?" Stiles asked the tattoo artist, who was clearly exhausted with his questions.

"Stiles?" Sage looked over at her best friend. She was sat with Scott while Stiles paced around the studio.

"Yeah?"

"Shut up." Scott and Sage both said looking at him.

"Tough crowd." Stiles joked but obliged.

The trio was at a tattoo studio just on the outskirts of Beacon Hills hoping that both Scott and Sage could get a tattoo, and Stiles was being his usual self. The tattoo artist was just about to start on Sage's tattoo when another question left the brunette's mouth.

"Sage you never told us what you were getting. Care to share?" This time instead of telling Stiles to shut up, she smiled.

"My moms name." Sage's voice softened at the mention of her mom, as it usually did, and the boys both smiled at her.

"I'm sure she would really like that." Scott said reaching out and squeezing her hand gently.

The tattoo continued as planned, and when it was finished Sage looked down to admire it. It was her mother's name written in her mother's handwriting. She got it placed across her wrist, and she was already so happy that she made this decision.

"Okay, you're next McCall." Sage said looking over at her best friend. " What are you getting?"

Scott lifted up a drawing that looked as it was drawn by a small child. "Does this answer your question?" He seemed so proud of himself that Sage couldn't bare insulting his art.

"I wish she never asked." Stiles on the other hand had no urge to hold back.

"Ignoring Stiles, what does it mean?" Sage glared at Stiles before turning her attention back to Scott.

"I don't know honestly." Scott responded coolly.

"It's a good thing you drew me a picture." The tattoo artist responded, and there was an obvious sarcasm in his voice.

"Hey! Scott why don't you get something like this?" Stiles lifted a drawing that looked oddly like a kanima, and when both Sage and Scott glared at him, he dropped the parchment. "Too soon?"

"Remind me why we're still friends?" Sage looked over to Scott, gesturing to Stiles.

"Because the two of you would be lost without me." Stiles replied.

"Because we told him too much and if we wanted to end the friendship this far in we'd have to kill him." Scott replied, completely ignoring Stiles.

"I can make that happen you know?" Sage raised an eyebrow, giving Scott a devilish smile.

"No no. No one is making anything happen." Stiles threw up his hands in defense, turning his attention to the tattoo artist. "You can go ahead and start now."

"Do you have any issues with needles?" The man ignored Stiles, a growing theme of the night, sitting down on his chair.

"No not that I know of." Scott answered, and the tattoo artist began his work.

"I tend to get a little squeamish, though, so..." Before Stiles could finish his sentence he fell to the floor.

"Just leave him."

As the trio drove back to Beacon Hills, Scott seemed to be in immense pain. He kept scratching at his arm and gesturing for Stiles to pull over. After about 5 minutes of complaining, Sage reached over and punched Stiles' arm, yelling at him to pull over. This time, instead of arguing, he did as suggested.

"I'm taking it off!" Scott started reaching for his bandage and Stiles swung his head away hoping that he wouldn't have to see the blood.

"Holy shit." Sage's jaw dropped as the bandage fell. This intrigued Stiles, causing him to turn his head.

"It's healed." Scott's voice was fueled with sadness. It was clear he really liked this tattoo.

"Oh thank god I hated it." He barely got the words out before Sage was smacking him in the back of the head. "One of these days I'm going to-" He stopped in his tracks and turned to start the car again, pulling back onto the road.

The trio drove for a bit longer, mostly in silence, except for Stiles and his eager need to make sarcastic comments about anything and everything. After the third time of Sage telling him to shut up and watch the road, her phone rang. It was Lydia.

"Hey Lyds, what's up?" Sage rolled her eyes and Stiles, answering the phone.

"Are you with your pet idiots?" Lydia asked, causing Sage to laugh out loud.

"Yes I'm with Scott and Stiles-"

"How come his name always goes first?" Stiles whined next to her.

"Isn't it obvious? She likes me more." Before the fighting could continue, Sage lifted her hand and they both fell silent.

"Why do you ask if I'm with them?" Sage turned her attention back to the redhead on the phone.

"Well since you don't have a car yet-"

"Don't remind me." Sage groaned as she glared at Scott and Stiles, who were still arguing.

"I was hoping Stiles wouldn't mind dropping you off." Lydia's voice was hopeful, like she was in desperate need of a girls day.

"Sure I don't see-" Before Sage could finish her sentence, the car came to an aggressive stop.

All at once, Stiles slammed on the breaks and a deer came speeding down the road ramming head first into the windshield. Shock set in between the three of them and Sage let her phone fall into her lap, leaving Lydia confused on the other end.

The three teens climbed out of the the Jeep walking around to get a better look at the deer and Sage could feel her stomach growing weak. Stiles walked over to call his dad for help, and Scott walked over to Sage noticing her discomfort.

"What the hell just happened." She asked as she buried her face into Scott's chest hoping to get the image out of her head.

"I honestly have no idea." Scott wrapped his arms gently around his best friend, his eyes locking with the now dead deer.

"My dad's on his way." Stiles put his phone in his back pocket as he approached the two. "Sage are you okay?" He placed his hand gently on her back to comfort her.

"No. A deer just came running at us, like it had no regards for its' own life!" Sage's voice was muffled. She remembered that she was on the phone with Lydia and walked to grab it. "Lydia are you still there?"

"Jesus Sage you can't scare me like that what happened!?" Lydia's voice was filled with panic and relief at the same time.

"A deer ran out at us. It was like it was possessed."

"Not possessed. Afraid." Scott said looking at the deer. "I can smell it's terror."

"Here we go again." Stiles threw his hands up.

"What are you on about now Stiles." Sage looked over at the boy, finally beginning to calm down.

"We finally start to get a sense of normalcy in our lives and now here we are again. This has to be supernatural. There is no way that this happened to us and it isn't supernatural." Stiles started pacing.

"Stiles will you stop." Scott was clearly just as worried, but was trying his best to hide it. "This is not supernatural. It's primal. The deer probably saw something in the woods that freaked it out."

"Yeah. A wolf."
