Chronostasis walked along with his boss. Kai Chisaki, leader of the Yakuza. But something felt off about him. They had just dropped Eri off at Tengai's room, he was the only one she wasn't terrified of. But Kai never cared before about whether or not she was scared, because he doesn't know why she's scared. Chrono closed his eyes and thought about everyone he knew, he thought about the people Kai grew up with. His Mentor Poltergeist, Sharpshooter, Swapswitch, Highlander. His- His father. 'Terugo!' He shouted.
'What?' 'Kai' asked. But now Kurono knew who it was. His eyes no longer shined like polished gold but glowed an ominous silver.
'Terugo let him go!' He yelled, reaching for his gun.
He looked shocked, but his surprise soon became a cocky smile. 'That won't do anything.' Terugo laughed.
Kurono tightened his grip on the weapon. Of course, he knew that... But he almost didn't care. Terugo was hurting them, hurting Eri. Hurting Kai. He pulled it out and aimed directly between Kai's eyes. At least his body's.
Terugo laughed again, 'Interesting, you know that you'll only kill Kai, yet you refuse to put the gun down.' Terugo reached up and grabbed Kai's neck.
There were two forms of Mindjack, Terugo's quirk.
1. He has to be there to give the orders. It's harder to break free and he can do it with a higher percentage of his power, as well as keep his hold longer.
2. Was where he swaps souls with whoever he's controlling. Kai's soul is in Terugo's body. Unconscious he still can't do anything. But Kurono wasn't an idiot. Terugo can't use Kai's quirk with this side of his quirk, nor his own.
Kurono moved the gun away from Kai, 'Fear... Fear, rage, worry. Feel a strong enough emotion it'll break you out of his quirk.' Kurono pointed the gun at his own head. 'He cares about me.' He closed his eyes.
'And?' Terugo snorted, but of course, he noticed he was twitching a bit.
'He can still hear, he sees what you see when you swap souls. If Kai is really still there when you do this like he says.' He opened his eyes again so he could look at Terugo, 'He'll save me.'
Kurono trusted Kai, and if anyone thought any different, they wouldn't now. He took a shaky breath, swallowed what was left of his doubt and fear, and got ready to pull the trigger. But before he could someone grabbed him and forced his hand away. 'Kurono! What are you doing?!'
That voice, it wasn't dark or sinister. It was worried and slightly fearful. 'Kai!' Kurono cried.
'Yes, Hari, why were you going to shoot yourself?' He asked. Hari dropped the gun and hugged Kai, crying. 'Hari, what is it? What's the matter?' He asked, forcing Hari to look up at him.
'You're back.' He smiled.
'I... Never left?' He looked confused, but like a truck, realization suddenly hit. He smiled, 'Thank you, Hari.'

Kai stretched, his prison cell was extremely uncomfortable. He laid down on the wooden cot again and tried to sleep. He was wearing quirk-proof gloves. They were surprisingly soft, and the prison uniform was tolerable. Kai still blamed himself for everything that happened. He hated what his father did, and now he was in the same prison as him. Kai groaned, there were no windows, and the door was always shut. What time was it? Morning? Maybe Noon? Or was it the middle of the night?
He heard the metallic sound of keys. One of the guards opened his cell door. Kai shut his eyes and tried to block as much of the light as possible. How long had it been since he was exposed to it? He suspected maybe a week. But isolation in a dark room with no clocks in sight can take a toll on a man's sense of time.
'How long has it been?' He asked, sitting up and trying to not sound so exhausted. He hadn't been able to sleep because he kept having nightmares of his time with his father, as well as what he had been doing to Eri.
'About a week, Chisaki.' She said.
So he was right, Kai nodded. Then thanked her with a slight smile. Even if he didn't technically do anything wrong, he was still in prison, so he wanted to be polite. Not to get on the guard's good side. It was more of an instinct.
She nodded and beckoned him to follow. He looked at the chains on his wrist then back at her. 'Pardon?'
'Oh right, my apologies.' She said and walked over. She unlocked the chains and then he followed.
He was put in a white room. There was a black table and a Tempered Glass wall with little holes carved into them. Kai sighed. He was going to be interviewed. They may ask him questions that he doesn't know the answer to.
Mirio walked in and Kai smiled, 'Hello.'
Deku, Fatgum, and Nighteye were just as shocked as Mirio. No death threats? No anger? Just a smile and a hello...
Deku was the first to break out of his shock and sat down in front of Overhaul. He cleared his throat. 'I assume you know why we're here.'
Kai nodded, 'An interrogation right?' His voice sounded so gentle. Was he trying to string them along?
'No... Kai doesn't seem like that kind of person...' Nighteye thought. 'He's the type to want to get to the point. He doesn't seem like the kind of person to act nice if he doesn't have a reason. And surely he must know kindness won't get him out of here. He's smart enough to know he might be put on death row.'
'So, Kai.' Fatgum started. 'Completed bullets. We want their locations.'
Kai snickered a little, 'If I knew that do you really think I'd still be here? I have other Yakuza out there with a solid way to communicate with them.'
Nighteye nodded, something about his tone suggested that he was telling the truth. He really doesn't want out of here.
'So...' Kai's voice snapped him back to reality. 'Am I going to be put on death row?'
Mirio was shocked, why was Kai giving them the idea of death row. He knew it would be tempting to some, so why say it?
'Because if I am, I completely understand.' He looked down and twitched a bit. 'What I did was cruel, and undeserved.'
'Then why did you do it?' Nighteye asked.
'Because I wanted the Yakuza back on top.' He frowned. 'I know it's wrong. So if you're going to kill me, please just do it.'
Mirio was confused, Kai was asking to be killed? No... There has to be something else going on here... What happened to him in the week he was in solitary?
Kai muttered something. 'What was that?' Mirio asked.
Kai looked back up, his eyes were glossy, but his irises were dull. 'I said I was sorry.'
