'Yes, Kai, your father.'

'I-I...' Why was he nervous all of sudden? 'I don't want to talk about it...' He muttered.

'You don't have a choice.'

Again, Kai flinched, 'Of course I don't...' He muttered. Mirio could see fear in his eyes, a strong fear that he hid well. 'He never gave me a choice...'

'What do you mean by that Kai?' Deku asked.

'Believe it or not, my past, as well as Eri's, are surprisingly similar.'

'What?!' Mirio yelled, he dared to compare Eri's past to his?

'My father didn't let me outside, I've never seen snow before, I barely knew seasons were supposed to change. He was constantly overworking me. And when he wasn't doing that I was locked in my room until dinner. He forced me to wear a shock collar and anytime I misbehaved he either used his quirk or shocked me until I was willing to listen. He forced me to use my quirk 'till I broke. And when I say broke, I mean broke. I broke my arms and was forced to repair them. He always brought me to the base and when I disagreed or begged to just stay home he used his quirk to force me to come. He always had a knife to my neck and I wasn't allowed to talk without permission.'

'Well- That's a lot...' Mirio said.

Kai touched a part of his cheeks, for the first time Nighteye noticed the faint scarring on them. 'He forced me to talk about my mother.'

'Is that a bad thing?' Fatgum asked.

'My mother was killed Fatgum.' He looked him dead in the eyes and crossed his arms. 'She fought in a battle against a villain. That villain killed her.'

'Oh.' He muttered.

Kai looked back down. 'Can I go yet?'

'Just one more question.' Deku said.

'Fine.'

'Who was your father?'

'His name is Terugo Chisaki, but you may know him as, 'The Mindful Killer.'

'I'm sorry who?' Fatgum asked, shocked, he didn't know that The Mindful Killer had any children.

'He raped my Mother, forced her to have me. She ran off with me once I was born, but a villain killed her and my father gained custody. They didn't know he was a villain.'

'Oh my God...' Deku whispered. 'So he grew up with villains. No wonder he turned out to be one...'

'Kai... Why didn't you tell anyone?' Nighteye asked.

'Oh, believe me, I tried.' Kai growled. 'I tried so hard to find one person willing to take me seriously. And when I finally found some, one gave up after the first try of saving me. Then the other was killed after the second. But... I suppose I didn't even try the second time.'

'What do you mean?' Nighteye asked.

'I was telling her to give up, like Phantom Arrow.' He lifted his head to face them properly. 'I gave up.'
