One on One can Mean two Things

'Oh?' Poltergeist hummed, what was this? He had reached out for a book on Kai's nightstand he hadn't seen before when Kai grabbed it first and jumped away. 'What are you hiding from me?'

Poltergeist had been ordered to never let Kai hide anything, so as much as he hated to invade a child's privacy he didn't have much choice.

Kai hid the book behind his back. 'It's- Hey!' Poltergeist stole the book from behind his back. *'S-Senpai!'

'What's this?' Poltergeist smiled, 'Are you keeping an *exchange diary?'

Kai twitched and messed with a loose string. Why did his father want to talk to him? And especially in such a specific place like Fat's bedroom.

'So, I see you're still alive. Did you get Chronos to betray me, or did he fail?'

'Betrayed, double-crossed, backstabbed, two-timed, tricked, shall I go on?'

Terugo glared, but he was still smiling. A sickly smile that Kai remembered all too well. 'I see, so he's succumbed to the same befuddlement you have, has he?'

'Befuddlement isn't the right word.'

'Then what is?' Terugo pouted.

'Kindness? Acceptance? Comfort? Love?' Kai suggested. 'Any of those work.'

Terugo narrowed his eyes. 'I didn't raise you to act this way.'

'You didn't raise me at all!'

Terugo rolled his eyes, 'You didn't want me to raise you.'

'Maybe that was because oh I dunno, you cut me open and use my blood for bullets?! Maybe it was because you manipulated me into thinking I was only useful if I was killing people?! Maybe it was because you forced me to torture my daughter?! Maybe it was because you killed Pops?! And Poltergeist?! Do you really have to wonder why I didn't and still don't want you in my life?!'

Terugo smiled kindly at him, and gently put his hand on Kai's cheek. The younger man stared at him, confused. His smile seemed gentle, but his eyes told him he was up to something. And when his eyes said, 'I'm up to something', he's up to something.

And he was proven right as Terugo struck him across the face, forcing him to the floor. 'You want to disobey me? You want to take away my quirk? I am your Father. You have no right to treat me like this you ungrateful whore.'

'Whore?! Yeah sure, I'm the one who fucked a hero so they'd stay silent about your operation! That wasn't you at all! Totally me!' struggling under his father, 'Have you gained weight?'

'I'll admit my methods are a tad unorthodox, but unlike yours, they're efficient.' He taunted, ignoring the comment.

Kai grabbed his father's arm, 'Efficiency huh? Well, it would've been efficient to hold down my legs.' He managed to prop his legs against Terugo's chest and flip the two over. 'Stay away from my family!'
