Eating

'Mommy! Mommy!' Niki yelled. Running to Amira Takagi, the wife of Ken. 'Mommy, daddy was being really mean!'

'What do you mean sweetness?'  She asked, getting on her knees and hugging him. 'How was daddy mean?' Fatgum told her everything but she wanted to hear from someone who was there.

'He was super mean! He lowered the range on Mr. Chisaki's collar and didn't tell him. He was shocked super bad! And he got mad when he tried to defend himself! Then-'

'Hey, what if we went to visit him tomorrow okay?'

'Yeah!'

Kai woke up when it was dark, his vision was blurred slightly, and there was a strange taste in his mouth. He tried sitting up but couldn't, Kurono was holding him tight.

Usually, if he was at the Hassaikai base he'd wake him up... But they aren't at the Hassaikai base anymore. Hell if he wanted to he could just go back to sleep. It was dark out, after all, so he probably should.

But he was really hungry. He usually eats twice a day (Which is usually a chore thanks to the fact his body isn't used to it. Thanks, Terugo) per Hari's request. But he hadn't eaten all day.

He sighed and unwrapped Hari's arms from around him. He made sure to be gentle, to not wake him up. He was really good at not waking people up after living with his father. His first training session with Poltergeist was on stealth. Hari whined so Kai made sure he was still asleep before he went to the kitchen.

The floor was cold, and the boards were creaky. Kai didn't mind however, he's seen, heard, and felt worse. Much, much worse. He sighed, he got a headache from even the faint light in the kitchen. 'Oh, what's this?'

Hey you two, I put some of tonight's dinner in the microwave so it would stay warm. I already went to bed, but you two enjoy okay?

'Hm. I'll have to remember to thank him when I see him.' Takoyaki, Kai always loved Takoyaki

He took the food out of the microwave and put it on the counter. 'Kai... What's- Oh?'

'Good morning Hari. It is currently 3:00 AM do you want some?'

They stared at each other for a moment. 'Yeah, sure I could eat.' Hari smiled, pushing himself off the way he had been leaning on.

There was a toothpick in each one, so Kai picked one up and offered it to his partner. They often ate together back at the base so this was not new to him, unlike most other coupley things Hari liked to do like watching movies. Although even if he wasn't used to it, he still enjoyed every second he spent with him.

Hari gladly accepted and thanked him. 'I almost feel like we're back in school and I'm thanking you for lending me your notes.' He chuckled.

'You would not have passed history if I didn't help you.' Chisaki teased.

'Okay well-' Kurono paused, 'Okay wait no that's fair.'

The yakuza laughed for a little bit. Kai felt much more relaxed but something was still bothering him. Was it that his father had been here? Was it that he'd kissed him? Neither of those seemed likely, so what was it?
