'Did... Did you just say you were sorry?' Fatgum asked.

'Yes... Look, I've said it once, I've said it twice, I'll say it a million times. I know what I did was wrong. And... And I regret it.'

The door opened. 'Kai.' The officer who took him there set a plate in front of him. 'You haven't eaten in a week, we kinda forgot about you. Sorry.'

He smiled at her, Deku could see very clearly how weak it was, 'Thank you, miss.'

'It seems like he regrets it. Like he does want to change.'

She nodded and walked away. Kai tried to eat a few bites, but he started looking sick and pushed it away. 'Apologies, but I can't.'

Fatgum tilted his head slightly, 'If you could see only one person who would it be?'

'Chrono.' He answered with no hesitation. 'I want to apologize to him... For being such an idiot.'

Nighteye closed his eyes, 'Kai, may I use my quirk on you?'

'Hm? I suppose if you want to.'

'Thank you.' He opens his eyes, makes direct eye contact with Overhaul, and activates Foresight. Then closes his eyes again.

'What is he trying to see? What does he expect to see?' Kai wondered. Chisaki tried to relax, but with everyone staring at him as if waiting for him to suddenly attack, it made him feel uncomfortable. He took a deep breath, 'What do you all want to know?'

'Well... What's your relationship with Chrono?' Deku asked, he remembered Kai was with him a lot when they first got there until they were separated.

Kai went a little red. 'Hari and I have been dating since we were in high school.'

'Wait really?' Mirio asked so that's why he was always so concerned for him. Constantly wondering if he was okay. Mirio had heard Kai muttering things like, 'Is he still with Aizawa?' 'Did he get hurt somehow?' 'Who won the fight?' while looking in Chrono's general direction. At first, Mirio just thought he didn't want to lose Eri so he needed Chrono to win, but he just didn't want to lose Kurono.

'Yes, yes. Villains can love too, you know. Not all of us are heartless monsters. Just most of us.'

'You're pretty heartless Kai.'

He flinched when Fatgum said that, he reached up and started scratching his neck. 'Right, I know that.' Under the uniform, Deku saw a few scars on his left arm.

'Hey, where did those come from? And why haven't you healed them with your quirk?' Deku asked.

Kai looked at his arm and shugged. 'Because I think scars are kind of a right of passage. And if they weren't, even if something didn't work out you should be proud of the scars, it's proof you tried.'

Fatgum raised an eyebrow, 'Proud huh? Interesting.'

Kai shrugged and scratched his neck some more. It looked like a stress rash was starting to form.

'Maybe you should stop scratching that?' Fatgum suggested.

'Wish I could.'

Mirio remembered something he remembered in Recovery Girl's Health Class. 'Are you trying to cope with something?' He only started scratching after what Fatgum said, maybe he's linked it to some sort of trauma?

'No... I'm fine just leave it. When is this going to be over?'

Nighteye opened his eyes, 'Kai who is your father you continuously mutter about in the future.'

Kai stopped scratching. 'M-My father?'
