Snack time

'Papa!'

'Yes, Eri? How may I help you?'

'Look! Look look look!' She squealed.

Kai turned back to see Eri holding an apple bunny. He smiled, 'Did Pops make that for you?'

'Mhm!' She smiled. 'It's so cute!'

Kai smiled at her, 'It is isn't it?'

Pops walked in and picked her up, 'She's eaten three.' He said, walking over to him. Kai ran his fingers through Eri's hair.

'That's good. That's she's eating I mean.'

'Hey! I eat!'

'For a while, you weren't, so my statement is still valid.' He teased. She pouted and held onto Pops.

The man chuckled, 'Seems like she likes me more than you.'

Kai only rolled his eyes, 'Yeah, whatever.'

Kai smiled and held Kurono's hand. Eri smiled, cuddling with Hari. Kai remembered a time when almost every day Kai or Pops would make her little apple bunnies.

He thought more about the things Pops would make for Eri. Like the Boba, they used to make. Kai remembered how she would always ask for some when she was sick, he would always refuse at first but he'd eventually cave. Hey, he was only human.

'Hey, did you guys buy apples?'

'Uh, yeah why?'

'Give me one.' He said getting up and walking to the Kitchen's archway.

Mirio shrugged and grabbed one from the bag, tossing it to him.

He washed his hand and put some gloves on, he washed the apple next and grabbed a clean knife. He was sick, he didn't want to get any germs on the food. This was for Eri after all.

Kai cut the apple into wedges, cut out the cores, and cut himself on the finger. 'Oh, fucking god living hell of fuck why the fuck has god forsaken me.' He hissed.

He's felt pain before, like a lot of pain. But it never got any better, it never hurt less. And sure, maybe he was being a bit overdramatic, but Fatgum and Hari were the only people who knew he could still use his quirk with the collar.

Kai looked into the living room, no one seemed to be paying attention. He sighed and decided to take the risk. So he overhauled his finger, didn't even leave a scar. He wiped off the leftover blood and washed his hands.

He picked up the knife again and cut a triangle out of the skin and slid the knife under the 'ears', standing them up slightly. He repeated the process with the other seven apple wedges.

He put the apples on a plate, and then looked in the fridge to see what he had to work with. 'Fresh strawberries, didn't realize he had these.' He mumbled and took them out. Then he got out Strawberry syrup, the Milk and closed the fridge.

He grabbed black tea from the pantry and set out the ingredients he had. 'Does he have suga-' He cut himself off when he saw the Sugar in the still open pantry. 'I'm dumb he has sugar, of course, he has sugar, he's Fatgum, what was I thinking.' He mumbled, then froze for .2seconds, surprising himself with how fast he was talking.

He regained his senses and grabbed the sugar. 'Oh fuck I didn't- does he-' He looked in the fridge again. 'Whipped cream, wonderful of course. Again how am I this dumb? I promised I passed high school.' He set it on the counter and stopped for a second time. 'Who am I talking to?' He asked himself slightly louder than intended.

'Are you okay in there?' Amira called, 'Who are you talking to.'

'I don't know okay leave me alone!' He heard laughter, 'Okay shut up I'm tired, sick, and above all else, I'm 22 okay be quiet!'

He sighed and quickly put together a strawberry milk tea, with whipped cream topping. Cleaned up any mess he made and put everything away.

He grabbed the food and brought it to the living room. Eri's eyes lit up seeing it, Kai smiled and gave her the drink and set the plate on the table next to Chrono. 'It's been a while since I made you anything so I figured I would.'

She handed the drink to Chrono and hugged him. 'Thank you, Papa!' He smiled and told her that he was happy to make her treats like this every now and again.

'Especially those apple bunnies, they're healthy and delicious.' He said.

She smiled and hugged him again.
