Kurono had to go back to his cell, and Kai was finally informed that he would be staying with Fatgum. 'What?' He asked. 'Why?'
'Because you and that prisoner can't be trusted in the same facility.'
'Then put me in a different facility!'
'Why does he want to be in prison?' Fatgum thought. 'Doesn't he at least want out?' Fatgum sighed. 'We can't do that.'
'Why not?' He asked.
'Because no other facility is secure enough to hold you.'
'Fine! Only if I don't have a choice.'
'You kinda don't.' Fatgum said.
He sighed, 'Fine.'

Kai was silent the car ride over. Fatgum had tried to start a conversation, to break the awkwardness. But Kai wouldn't respond.
'We're here.' He said and unbuckled his seat belt. Kai did the same and tried to open the door, however...
'Child lock?'
'Yup.'
'Are you serious?'
'Yup.' Fatgum opened the door for him.
'Hm, nice place you got here.'
'Thank you.' Fatgum smiled. He opened the front door, Kirishima and Tamaki were there too.
'Oh lovely, more people who hate me.' He muttered.
'They don't hate you, Tamaki is scared of you and Kirishima got over it when Eri did.'
Kai froze, 'E-Eri got over it?'
'Mostly.'
Kai did his best to hide his smile, but Fatgum could see it behind his hand, 'Good. Finally got over herself I see.' He smirked and decided not to mention how he had a strong feeling Kai didn't mean what he just said.
'O-Overhaul!'
'Hey, Birdman.'
'What did you just call me?' Kai asked.
'Birdman, y'know cause your mask looks like a bird?' Kirishima answered.
'It's a plague mask. I was trying not to get sick.' He explained.
'Dude, are you trying to throw the world into the dark ages?'
'How would- You know what? Not even gonna finish that sentence.'
Tamaki covered his face with his hood and tried to keep his distance.
Kai almost rolled his eyes, 'What do you think I'm going to do? Use Overhaul on you? This is a Quirk-Blocker, not a fashionable choker.' He tugged on the collar on his neck.
'Hey now, you were pretty scary back there.' Fatgum said.
'Well, he has no reason to be afraid, and weak emotions like that will get you killed if you don't hide them.'
'No emotion is a weak emotion.' Kirishima said.
'Fear, Sadness, Regret. Those are all weak emotions.'
'Kai who told you that?'
'My father.'
'Why?' Kirishima asked.
'It's... Complicated.'
'Look, he just got out of solitary confinement. He probably isn't used to so much noise and we shouldn't pester him anyway.'
Overhaul glanced over at Fatgum, not used to anyone caring. 'Thank you.' He muttered.
'Mhm, I'll show you where you'll be staying!'
Kai sighed, he went through all the trouble to get to Tartarus only to be pulled out. 'Whatever.'
Fatgum leads him upstairs up to his new room. 'At least it's clean.' He nodded his thanks.
'Make yourself comfortable. I'm gonna go make lunch.'
'Alright.' He shrugged. 'What time is it anyway?'
'12:07.' Fatgum answered.
Kai thanked him and sat on the bed.
He was still in his prison Uniform, it was pretty hot and kinda uncomfortable. He unbuttoned the orange top and slid it off.
There was a Mirror, Kai looked at his body, shameful. His torso, arms, and back were littered with scars. He was able to cover some of them with Tattoos, but a lot were still quite visible even through the ink.
He had to stop looking eventually, Fatgum called him for lunch. He looked at the top, he didn't want to put it back on. Still, he swallowed down everything telling him not to and put the dirty shirt back on.
His skin broke out as he started walking down the steps. He took a shaky breath as he started walking down, scratching his arm on the way.
He got down finally and headed to the kitchen. Fatgum was there, setting a plat of Sushi, Rice, and Soba with Mochi for dessert. 'Is there anything you want to drink?'
Kai narrowed his eyes, suspicious. He wasn't the most trusting of people. 'Why are you even inviting me for lunch?'
'Well if you're gonna live with me I might as well feed ya right?' He handed a plate to Tamaki and Kirishima and then offered one to him.
He hesitated, taking a step back. It's like he thought it was going to explode at any moment. 'Why... Why waste time on a prisoner?'
'Well, it's not a waste to me. Now relax, I promise it's not poisoned.' He chuckled.
Tamaki took a bite. 'Why are you so confused, didn't you ever eat dinner with your family?'
'The family I did have didn't care enough to make dinner let alone eat together. Where I lived everyone hated everyone and nothing you ever did was good enough.'
'Surely that's an exaggeration.' Kirishima said. Overhaul shook his head.
'You've never eaten dinner with anyone?' Fatgum asked.
'Well, I've had dinner with Kurono.'
'Not what I meant, you've never had dinner with your family?'
'Like I said,' Kai crossed his arms and looked out the window. 'No one liked each other at my house. We tolerated each other.'
'Well... You guys loved each other right?' Tamaki asked.
Kai laughed, surprised the other three. 'Love each other?! Are you crazy? The most 'Love' we had for each other was we didn't kill each other while the other was asleep.'
'Oh...' Kirishima muttered. He wanted to know now, what kind of home did Overhaul grow up in?
