'Excellent!' Pops exclaimed. 'I'm looking forward to working with you, are there any other questions you have?'

'Uh, yeah. What's with the kid?' The man asked.

Kai whimpered and hid his face in the boss' robe. He just kept muttering 'Don't hurt me, please don't hurt me.'

'Oh,' Pops put a hand on Kai's head, trying to comfort him. 'See, he was the reason the heroes went to the Satana base. He was the child they went to save.'

'Well, that was only a few weeks ago.'

'Indeed, I adopted him a few days ago, he knew me before then because his father had me over a few times, but he isn't much used to new people yet.'

'I see.' The man sympathized.

Pops nodded and slowly traced circles on Kai's back. 'He's very nervous, especially around new adults considering it was usually them who tortured him, and the kids who tried to comfort him.'

'I understand. It'd perfectly reasonable.'

Pops noticed Kai wasn't whimpering as much. He looked down to see he'd fallen asleep. He smiled and continued his interview with the man, Hikiji Malonoki.

'You do?' Eri asked.

'Yes, Eri I wish I could explain why I did what I did. I regret it, I swear I do.' He tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. 'I want to tell you, but I don't want you to get hurt, which is what would happen if I told you. I'm sorry Eri.'

She hugged him, she wanted to know, but she wasn't going to push him to tell her. 'You can tell me when you're ready, no matter how long it takes, even if it never happens, I'll wait.' Kai smiled.

'Thank you, Eri.' She nodded.

Kai put an arm around her, 'The floor is dirty, why don't we go find somewhere to sit?'

'Okay!' She beamed.

He picked her up and sat her down on the couch next to Deku and Lemillion, while he sat on the rug.

'Dinner's ready!' Fatgum called from the kitchen.

'Are you eating?' Eri asked Overhaul.

'I'm not hungry.' He replied. She nodded and got up to get some food with the others.

There were a lot of voices, Overhaul was able to pick up on them and determine who they belonged to. Nejire Hado, her voice was the most obvious. Mirio Togata is also obvious but not as much, but that's only because of how loud Hado is. Tamaki Amajiki, his voice was a bit harder to recognize, but he remembered hearing his voice on Kurono's earpiece. He already knew Fatgum was here do his voice was easy. Izuku Midoriya's voice stuck out like a sore thumb, and Eri's was easily distinguishable.

Six, six people were here. But he had a feeling more would be coming soon. He was unfortunately proven correct when the doorbell rang out through the house. Fatgum opened the door, three. Three more voices.

Nighteye, Kirishima, and Aizawa. They make nine. Ten including himself. Fatgum also mentioned something about maybe another coming so that would make 11. Once he finally realized what he was doing he mentally smacked himself in the face. 'Hari told you to stop doing that Kai.' He'd grown so used to counting how many people were in a place at once he'd stopped realizing he was doing it was creeping him out since he'd count out loud so Hari asked him to stop.

Thinking about Hari... I made him upset. He tried to stop thinking about it, but of course, it only made things worse. He muttered apologies to everyone in the Hassaikai.

'Mr. Overhaul?' Eri asked.

'I'm sorry Eri.' He muttered.

'Mr. Overhaul what's wrong?'

'Forget it, it's not something you should worry about.' He said, smiling and patting her head. She hesitated before hugging him.

'Okay, get better.'

He smiled, 'I will.'
