Cipher covered Kai's eyes and jumped up onto the loft setting him down and leaning him against the wall. 'Kid, don't move. Don't use your quirk, and don't open your eyes.' She instructed.

Phantom Arrow had shot an arrow through Poltergeist's head after that happened the pale white skin peeled away, his teal hair fell from his head and his body collapsed. Behind the quirk Poltergeist, which they soon learned was given to a dead body by Terugo, was a decayed corpse. A sickly purplish-blue, with whited-out eyes, as blood seeped out of every hole. The body was slashed and mangled, but they could vaguely make out the face of Hiro Fujimoto.

'This kid has seen enough death in his life.' She thought, 'He doesn't need to see something so graphic.' This poor kid, can't even smile. He's forgotten how to. She held the crying teenager close to her, 'I'll protect you. I won't ever let you go through this ever again. I will be your hero.'

'So why are there so many people here?' Kai asked.

'No reason really, just thought I'd invite some people over.' Toyomitsu smiled, he was in his skinny form at the moment so his smile wasn't as creepy.

Kai sighed, he started going back upstairs but Eri grabbed his hand. She looked at him with begging eyes and whispered 'Please?'

Kai groaned, 'Damn, why can't I say no to this kid?' He kneeled and put a hand on her head. 'Fine, only since you asked.' He smiled. She ran off to Deku and Lemillion. Overhaul just leaned against a wall. He almost reached for his jacket before remembering he didn't have it. He relaxed his face, he couldn't cry here. 'Damn.' He muttered, tightening his grip on the shirt he was wearing.

'Overhaul, are you okay?'

'I'm fine.' He hissed.

'Are you-'

'Yes!' He snapped. 'Leave me alone will ya?'

'Okay.' Fatgum walked away and back to the kitchen. Eri was worried now, she'd heard their 'conversation'. Overhaul didn't snap much unless you do something wrong, or you bothered him when he really just needed to be left alone. She knew she shouldn't, but after suffering so much herself, she never wanted to see anyone suffer the same way, even if that person was the man who made her suffer.

She excused herself and walked over to him, he was covering his face with one hand and supporting his arm with the other. 'Mr. Overhaul?'

'Hm?'

'Are... Are you okay?' She asked.

Kai sighed and sat down on the floor so he was at her height, he gave her a slight smile, though he still seemed anxious. 'I'm fine Eri, I promise.'

Eri didn't believe him, at all. 'Please, tell me what's wrong.' She begged.

He sighed and closed his eyes. 'Eri, do you remember that jacket I never took off unless I was going to bed?'

'You tied it around your waist when the AC broke.' She recalled.

'Exactly, well... There's a reason for that. It was my Mother's. She died when I was two years old in a villain attack. I got it from her girlfriend when I was 16. So I always felt close to her when I was wearing it. But... It was confiscated when I was arrested. So I don't have it anymore. Large crowds like this make me feel claustrophobic and kinda nervous. Since I don't have my jacket, it makes it worse.' He explained.

She felt sad for him, even if she hadn't known why she always knew it was important. She took another step towards him, slowly took another, and one more until she was close to him. She sat down right next to him and leaned against his side. 'Eri?'

'It's okay.' She said. 'It'll be okay.'

Kai was surprised but he let her stay there. 'Eri...'

'Yes?'

'I'm so, so sorry.' Kai couldn't express it enough.

Eri hesitated, 'It's okay.'

'Eri,' Kai whispered, trying to keep from startling her accidentally, 'I love you.'
