(Before y'all read this, I just wanna say I hope everyone has a safe and happy start to 2022 and if you aren't, I'm here if you need someone to talk to! I'd also like to say Rest in Peace to Betty White, a true icon and legend who touched the lives of many through her work. 2021 took way too many 😔. Anyway, I got a request for Hailey having a really bad period and Jay taking care of her, so here it is! Other requests are in the works!)

Hailey Anne Halstead hated her period. (What girl doesn't though?). Her's were unpredictable, heavy, she'd get horrible cramps, and sometimes she'd start getting headaches from losing a bit more blood than the average person, or she'd get dizzy. She hated it.

Not long before she and Jay got engaged, she'd had a hysteroscopy to figure out if she had anything causing her periods to be so bad. She didn't, but the procedure had served as a reset for her body and she'd has normal periods for the first time since she'd started at 12 for the last 10 months.

A few months after she and Jay got married, she started being irregular again but chalked it up to some stress at work. She'd recently been held at gun point and the guy being too high to aim correctly, along with Jay's sniper skills, were the only reasons she was alive. So, stress messing with her made sense. She'd been a little irregular during the whole Walton FBI thing, but had balanced out after.

Then one day she woke up from painful cramps and her period was the heaviest it had been in almost a year. She wanted to cry but told herself it was just a painful start and it would be fine soon. Jay knew something was bugging her and kissed her head when she leaned against him after he came into the bathroom.

"What's wrong?"

"Just my period," she sighed, going to grab her clothes for the day.

"I'm sorry, Hails. Do you need anything?" He asked, following her.

"Just some ibuprofen, please," she leaned up and kissed him.

"On it," he smiled and left their room, soon returning with two pills and some water.

"Thank you," Hailey smiled and took them then finished getting ready. When she had to change and add a pad for back up before they left for work, she whined, her anxiety picking up. She didn't want to have to go through everything again.

"Just a heavy morning," the blonde told herself as she washed her hands and threw extra pads and tampons in a bag for work.

"Baby, we gotta go, we caught a case!" Jay called from their room.

"Kay!" Hailey walked out and they got their gear on and ran down to the truck.

By the time they returned to the district from looking at the scene and gathering information, it was almost noon and Hailey was cramping horribly and had leaked. Thankfully she was in dark jeans and had insulates under them because it was so cold. She went to the locker room and changed into clean insulates and jeans, took more ibuprofen, and sat on the bench for a few minutes, trying desperately not to cry as she worried about why it was happening again.

Her head snapped up when Kim and Adam walked in, laughing about something.

"Hey, Hailey," Adam waved as he went to grab something. Kim noticed something was off with the blonde and went over to her.

"What's wrong?" She asked, sitting by her.

"Nothing, I'm just tired," she tried to brush it off but her uterus decided to basically light itself on fire at that moment and she gasped in pain, practically folding herself in half on the bench as tears filled her eyes.

"Hail, I don't believe that. Talk to me, what's wrong? Are you hurt?" Kim placed a hand on her back and bent forward to see Hailey's face, though her long blonde waves blocked her view.
