(Missing hospital scene. I think I'm going to do a really long one (after this) that is completely different from how they played it off in the show in addition to this one shot as well)

All she felt was pain and a horrible fuzziness in her ears. Everything was blurry and she wasn't sure what was happening. Suddenly, Jay appeared infront of her and she tried to sit up, but he held her down. That brought tears to her eyes. She was in a lot of pain and was really scared.

"Hailey, can you hear me?!" She whimpered as his distant voice became more clear, though her ears were still ringing horribly.

"It's okay, you're okay, just stay down," he said, holding her hand as she cried quietly. She wanted to sit up.

"No, Hailey, stay down," Jay said again and she whimpered once more as the ambulance pulled up. Thankfully, it was Brett's first shift back, so she and Violet jumped out of the ambo and ran over to them.

"What happened?" She asked Jay.

"We both caught the blast. I'm fine, just sore. Hailey was unconscious for a few minutes, she hasn't said anything and I don't think she could hear me at first," Jay informed her.

"Hailey, can you hear me?" Brett asked as Violet got the c-collar on Hailey.

Hailey nodded slightly and squeezed her eyes shut against the pain and dizziness. "It's fuzzy," she mumbled.

"Okay, that's normal after being so close to a blast. Is it getting better?" Hailey gave a thumbs up.

"Your head hurts really bad, doesn't it," Jay said.

Hailey gave another thumbs up as they got her on the back board and then onto the stretcher. She remained quiet, except for some whimpering from the pain, as they drove to med.

When they got there, Will received them with Vanessa. He wasn't technically supposed to treat Hailey because she was family, but he was the only one available.

"What's going on?" He asked once he had her stats.

"Explosion. She flew, slammed into the pavement and lost consciousness. Her hearing is messed up too, but it's coming back. She hasn't said much," Jay told his brother.

"Okay, Jay. We've got her. Wait right out there," Will squeezed Jay's shoulder and rolled his sister-in-law to a trauma bay.

They transferred her to the bed and took xrays of her neck. Once they knew there was no damage, he took the c-collar off because he knew she hated them.

"Sis, I need you to open your eyes for me," he said, touching her shoulder.

Hailey opened her eyes but whimpered and shut them immediately as tears began to slide down her temples. It hurt, it was bright.

"Hey, I know it's bright. I need you to do this though," Will rubbed her arm and she slowly opened her eyes again. Will did a concussion test and concluded that she had a mild one.

"How's your hearing?" He asked.

"Fuzzy," she told him.

"Okay, we're going to get you in for an mri and I'm going to get an audiologist in here to take a look at your ear. You somehow don't have any broken bones, which is good, but you're definitely going to be sore for a few days. Do you want me to get Jay?" Hailey nodded slightly, grimacing in pain.

Jay came in and immediately took her hand. "I'm okay," she told him when she saw how panicked he looked.

"Please don't scare me like that again," Jay kissed her head.

"I'll try not to," Hailey smiled.

Will came and cleaned up her cheek and put a butterfly stitch on it before the audiologist came in and ran some tests. He concluded that Hailey's hearing would return before the end of the day, which was a huge relief. Then she was taken up for an MRI.

"Jay, do you need to be checked out?" Will asked once Hailey was out of sight.

"No, I'm just sore, I swear. Hailey caught the brunt of it," Jay reassured his older brother.

"Okay, but if something starts to hurt, you have to call me," Will was firm and Jay nodded.

They talked until Hailey was brought back, accompanied by a neurologist. "She's going to be okay. She got incredibly lucky, this could have been so much worse. Hailey, take it easy for a couple days. If you have any dizziness, nausea, vomiting, or if your hearing doesn't get better, come back. Got it?"

Hailey nodded and Will went to get her discharge papers. Within five minutes, she was sitting in Will's car because they didn't have the truck, drinking a Gatorade to make sure she was hydrated.

Will drove them to the district and hugged them both. "I'm glad you're okay, sis," he told Hailey.

"Thanks, Will," Hailey smiled and went to go change.

"Just keep an eye on her. She can work, but watch her," he told Jay when he saw his concern.

"Okay. I will. Thanks for taking care of her," Jay smiled gratefully.

"I'd say anytime, but you two have got to stop coming in injured if you miss me. Let's just go to Molly's next time," they both laughed and Jay went into the district.
